Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - - - - Part 41

I never said they weren't wrong. Look at my post. Im just saying I don't buy that it had to do with experience.

I dunno. Just something about Trank never sat right with me. Did not like the decision from day one.

It's like great athletes that are given too much fame and money all at once and they completely implode.

And when they saw that Trank was screwing up. They just said **** it and "buried their heads in the sand".:funny: Like wtf? For all the **** people give Marvel, Feige in particular. They step in when they feel they need to. Alan Taylor was an example of this and judging from Terminator Genesys, I believe they had every right to. Say what you want about Feige, but he's never screwed up as bad as Fox did with the FF. Their worst films (IM2, Thor 2) are masterpieces compared to the nonsense that was the FF.:down

It has been said again and again when marvel hires a director, there are certain ELEMENTS that NEED to be in the film because its a connected universe after all. For example, with the Russo's, Feige told them he wanted Shield gone/dismembered in TWS. That HAD to happen. How they got there was up to the Russo's but Shield falling had to be in the film.

FFINO is barely a film. People were saying "oh Rothman is gone, Fox have improved their ways" and they drop the FF on us. How do you mess up the FF three times in a row? Dear Lawd. From the same studio that gave us X-2 and FC which are consider one of the creme de LA creme of the CBM genre. They literally took a major step backwards.

Agreed 100%. FFINO is arguably their worst movie yet (I still say Origins is their worst, I despise that film with everything in me).

Well this is an example where that didn't happen. So yeah they were wrong.

They were wrong and there's a 2 year road map explaining how and why they were all wrong.

So for the purpose of this example here it couldn't have worked out any differently.

Personally, there were a lot of scenes that I was looking forward from the trailers that didn't end up in the film that made me feel that way. Then seeing the "prototype Fantasticar" in the BTS clip and hearing the things that were shot but didn't end up in the film like Ben having a conversation with Sue earlier in the film, kinda made me frustrated. I really wish Fox just let Trank do his own thing, the CG in the final act would probably have been better too.

Agreed!

I am glad that the movie is doing really badly I want it back with Marvel because the characters fit so well with the MCU, it doesn't belong to FOX.

Out of all of them, the FF are more closely connected to the Avengers as they share villeins from the Skrulls, to Korvac, to Molecule Man, Doom and Galactus, I mean it just makes sense.

As much as I want X-Men (my favorite characters) back with Marvel, FOX can concentrate on expanding their world, cause they can actually match with scale and many movies as the Marvel's CU.

I had a problem with this film from the beginning, from the announcements to the cast and so on. I am African and I was actually pissed that they cast Michael B Jordan because he didn't match with the character both in looks and attitude, I felt Chris Evans was a better Johnny Storm. There was no witty thing about MBJ or none flirtatiousness to any girl whatsoever and yes I watched the movie for free in my bro's Cinema. It just felt off that Reed was taller and fitter than Ben I mean it was just wrong and the CGI for Ben was horrible and soo ugly, they could have animated him exactly like in the comics.

I could see the potential in Trank's cut it was very SYFY even though yes it was too moody at times but the 180 turn in the second half was really really bad, they should have just let Trank finish the film no matter the cost.

And it's unfortunate I like the actor who played Doom.

The franchise has not being very successful in it's life time and I think it's time to go home cause this last movie is a wake up call, if FOX continues the franchise, it's just bad business.

Agreed. Without the reshoots, the film would at least have remained coherent, instead of the jumbled mess we got in the second half of the final cut.

That's only if you thought the first half was decent. I didn't think that.

At the end of the day, we can blame Trank all we want (and rightfully so--he has huge responsibilities in this debacle). But ultimately? This is all happening because of FOX. Their time was up, they panicked and then they threw this s*** together to keep the rights from Marvel--plain and simple. Bottom line: greed was the biggest reason why this film failed. The entire motive behind making it was wrong from day one.

This is arguably the biggest example of "Karma will bite you in the ass" that I've ever seen in Hollywood cinema.

It is ironic that the film they made to keep the rights will likely be a major factor in them losing the rights back to Marvel.

Fox sucks, period. After this disaster I think I'm gonna skip Deadpool and Gambit. Only Singer's Apocalypse gets my money. To think that Kinberg still gets jobs...ugh.

After this pathetic rights grab, I'm even less forgiving. I've already stated that I will not watch a single film by Fox in the theater until they finally do right by Fantastic Four. I'm bummed because I was actually looking forward to seeing The Martian. But there are so many movies to watch these days it's not that big a deal to wait until cable, Netflix or Redbox.

Is anybody else still getting the occasional Fant4stic ad on the top of the page? Um... isn't this maybe the wrong place to spend advertising dollars at this point?

I get you. I probably like the X-movies a little more than you so I'm willing to see at least those movies in theater.

How so? They only need to release a movie after every 8 years or so.

There's profit to be made here, they can just release the Trank cut next time!

Yeah....sure....go ahead and release another one after 3 failed attempts. Im sure this time they will get it right.

The messed up part about all this for FOX is that the backlash from fans they have brought on themselves can have some consequences of losing support for their other Marvel films.

Im sure many will still go see Xmen or Deadpool but they really pissed off a lot of the fanbase with this debacle. Just bad publicity.

Can you imagine? If Fox announced a reboot at some point in the next 7 years, the internet would explode with furious hate. It would be ten times worse than what we've seen over the past year.

That level of animosity is hard to imagine.

The audience is no longer there for a 20th Century Fox Fantastic Four movie. Them making another one is just bad business at this point.

I wonder how long it will be before they announce no sequel. Or have they already announced it, and I just missed it.

I've tried to stay away from this movie as much as possible.
