During Dec 17th and Dec 18th I rented film equipment from a company in Dublin(2hr 30mins away) and I got this gear picked up from a collection and delivery service called Limerick Express.
I was told I could pick this gear up from 9am on Dec 17th myself, due to no service on weekends. The shoot was at 2pm that day and I was in a rush, but no worries, Limerick Express only kept me waiting for 25-30mins. When someone did arrive from the company, they had no idea I was there to collect the equipment. The employee didn't even know how much to charge me, that's how clueless this jackass was.
After getting no help with lifting the equipment into the taxi, I got home and the shoot went well.
The gear was set to be collected on Monday as it needed to be back by Tuesday for other people to use it.
Monday, about 4pm, the delivery service called wanting directions to my humble house. After 7 minutes of explaining where my home was located, the driver started to grow an attitude with me, due to frustration of his lack of direction.
When he arrived, he sighed because he had to bring the gear from my front door to the truck.
At this point I'm glad this POS service was out of my hair...But today I got an email from someone from the film equipment company explaining the driver delivered the gear to the wrong place. The stuff did get to the film company today, not Tuesday like it was meant to.
Now here comes the funny part-3 lav mics are now missing from one of the cases. I made double sure they were packed, as well has the sound guys.
The question is, what do I do now and who will be held responsible for the missing equipment?
I got insurance out for damages and I'm demanding a refund from this delivery company.
