I don't get the miscasting argument for 3 out of the 4.

Ebon is all CGI and looks like the most comic accurate version of The Thing, Reed doesn't take much save for some gray streaks in his hair and/or a beard so Pedro is fine, and then her obvious British accent aside, Vanessa Kirby looks like Sue come to life from the comics:



No comment on Joseph Quinn and his lack of sex appeal IMO but we'll see what he does.

Something seemed off about the trailer, like it was made by AI or something. It all just looks incredibly...safe, and I'm not sure if that's reflective of the final product or just a simply cut trailer.

I thought the same, the effects of the Surfer and the feet at the end just looked sterile to me. It's not what I hoped or imagined. They've had a year to work on this.

I'm still excited and even booked the day off work to watch it first thing without distraction but I don't know, my imagination isn't matching what I'm seeing.

They wrapped filming in November. That's a relatively tight schedule for a big, VFX laden movie. Still, the effects look perfectly fine to me.

Those SS and Mr. Fantastic effects are ROOOOUGGGH!!! It's pretty bad when Silver Surfer looks better in 2007 than in 2025, almost two decades later. MCU really needs to learn how to manage their productions better so their VFX teams have ample time to fine tune and finalize the effects before they're released to the public.

The rest of the trailer looked okay I guess, but I agree with those who just can't seem to get excited. I sorta like most of what we've seen, but despite the retro futuristic feel, it all feels kinda bland and mundane. Maybe that comes with the territory? I dunno. I may catch this in theaters if it gets some good word of mouth. Otherwise, I might wait for streaming.

I would have preferred Pascal's Reed be clean shaven, but that's just me .
I prefer the shaven version of Reed ,than the goatee or beard look to him, again that's my preference



At this point, Pascal's mustache and facial hair are pretty much his trade mark , so , I'm guessing he's not gonna ditch it, unless the a role really calls for it.

It's a bit like Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck where they became identified with their mustaches.
Yeah , they did roles clean shaven, but when you think of them , it's with their mustaches.



I'm biased on Vanessa Kirby .

She's projects that whole mysterious and intriguing vibe about her, like there's more going on under the surface .

You add to that the English accent , it's like wow.


She was actually my choice for Emma Frost for The X Men reboot , but , I think she's be good as Sue Storm.

This short clip has more chemistry among the cast than the previous films put together. Especially the FF movie with Evans in it, where the four main cast just acted their roles independently and sadly largely fumbled.

The new cast are better actors but I'm not feeling the chemistry at all. Reed and Sue look depressed in every scene.

It looks decent. There's no need to complain about any FX because there's still a few months to work on them. The actors look good, my only hesitation is on the female surfer, I always preferred the original SS. It'll be interesting to see how a pregnant superhero plays out.

This is the classic surfer for the MCU. This is the Silver Surfer they are doing.

I think it's more like how people think we are getting a real Doctor Doom after RDJ. It ain't happening. This will be Surfer and Galactus in the MCU

They did say somewhere that there is only one Galactus in the entire multiverse and this is him.

I still think Norrin Radd will get introduced somewhere.

I think The Thing and Johnny were the two standouts in the trailer, and Sue the standout in the teaser. It’s pretty obvious that’s what whoever cut the trailers were going for.

I can buy that. I was in high school myself when the 2005 movie released so the nostalgia probably isn't rubbing off on me as it would someone who was 10-years-old or whatever at the time.

I can vouch for this. My wife was 10 when FF dropped and she loves that movie. I was 15 and I only hate it even more now.

Galactus yes but Silver Surfer is a mantle. No reason to believe that we won't see Norrin become the Surfer down the line, possibly even at the same time as Shalla-Bal.

There’s a bunch of Hulks now. It’s possible (other Surfer), but maybe unlikely - if not you’ll be waiting a long time for it to happen.

Yes, but they've obviously swapped around the roles of Norrin Radd and Shalla Bal.

Those are apple-to-grape comparisons. Also, they were still starting with the original versions in those cases.

Those aren't the same types of situations, and the other characters are more consistent with their comic characterizations, hence how they introduced Red Hulk, She-Hulk later. Sam Wilson taking over as Captain America, etc.

Also, Red Hulk was only appearing for one movie so far. Jane Foster only appeared in one movie and was already killed off. Sorry, but it ain't the same thing.
