The first Raimi Spider-Man was really the first Marvel film done right.
The first film with the combination of budget, vision and enough respect for the comics to try to put something on screen that really looked and felt like the comics.
Fox made some decent movies, but they tended to be dismissive of the comics. They were afraid to look too goofy or spend too much money and they were too willing to believe their ideas were better than the comics that had stood the test of time.
