Fantastic Four: First Steps General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

Is Alicia in this movie?

If I wrote it, she would be in it and a key to the story through her interactions with SS and her demonstration of why the Earth is worth saving.

Also, Ben will not be Ben without Alicia.

But I didn’t write it and I’m not aware of any official statements, so I can’t answer your question.

The reason I wouldn't have put her in this movie is we are all assuming that the FF end up in the main MCU. I wouldn't want Alicia stuck in that universe or if it's destroyed be discarded. So I think using her in a sequel is wise. Use her and make a sequel more Thing centric.

If I were a betting man, and I haven't seen leaks, I am thinking what will make the Surfer betray Galactus will be Franklin. Something happens, and then Sue maybe has some kind of appeal to Surfer's hidden humanity and she will see some innocence or something in Franklin that will change her mind. That's where I see this going

"May be", "possible". All the not news around the web is infuriating.

I'm just hoping that that is a sign that they'll go back to shorter turnaround between sequels.

I think the ideal range is if we do 3 movies a year, 2 sequels and 1 new IP. That's what you should be striving for

They have tons of merch for the film coming and out already

I just wish it was the same in the UK...

I’m a particular fan of the renderings that look like what you’d get if Kirby drew the film characters. I got several t-shirts with those images.

I'm waiting to see if they will sell a lot of FF merch here in the UK. If not then I'm going to have to pay to ship stuff here.

Marvel seems to be doing a lot of marketing in the US, but I'm not sure how much they are doing internationally. Places that aren't as familiar with the team might need a bit of a push.

I’m on the way to the grocery store and I’m curious if they have the Pop Tarts yet.

I’ll definitely get a box if they do.

Marvel announced that there's going to be a new trailer out Wednesday.

That will probably be the last trailer I watch before I actively avoid all promo so that I won't be spoiled
I'm gonna avoid it like the pest. Final trailers always show way too much.

I'm hoping it's like the Superman final trailer where it's mostly action and character interactions.
