Watch Doom look like a crash dummy, Reed with springs, Ben Grimm looking scrawny now.

 

Well i would like to believe her but she was one of the ones who said Doom would be in BP2 so after that debacle with the gossip columns, I am not putting a lot of stock in them.

 

I thought people learned by now not to take scoopers like Grace Randolph- especially Grace- as if their word is gospel.

 

It’s probably just my optimism talking, but that’s the kind of thing that isn’t a scoop or a big secret.

If Shakman thinks being faithful to the source material is important, the 100s of people working with him will know it and be free to talk about it.

It’s not the kind of thing that would be considered confidential.

Specific details, yes, but not the broad concept of considering faithfulness important.

 

That makes sense.......except for you being optimistic.

 

I used to be very optimistic… until Fox beat it out of me and Marvel stopped caring.

 

Now that's more like it.....

 

Then it makes more sense to not pay Grace any mind at all whenever she starts squawking.

 

Whenever? That's like saying whenever a parrot squawks.

 

Alright, to be more straightforward:

People shouldn't be paying any attention to whatever Grace Randolph says. I assume a lot of folks here know that already, but even if it's F4 related, I don't see why anyone would pay her any mind.

 

honestly i too was pessimistic until Marvel Studios got the rights back. It’s not a question of IF anymore but when. How patient can we be before seeing the remaining 3 members for the first time in the MCU? Hang in there 2025 will be here quicker than you can say Avatar 3: The Flames of Fire

on looks alone she can even be fancast as Sue Storm

 

Good God no. Nevermind the fact that she's a terrible scooper, I can't stand her voice.

 

In a perfect world, Glen would be pretty much the guy and Marvel’s go-to choice but sadly we don’t live in a perfect world and Howerton probably won’t end up being picked.

 

I still think he would have done a great job as Star-Lord.

 

I could get behind that pick.

But at this point, we’re just over 2 years from release. IF they don’t have a final cast yet, they must at the very least have auditioned people and narrowed it down to a very short list.

 

Congratulations everyone on 100 pages! We have seen John Krasinski play Reed in the MCU and we got a new director Shakman and millions of rumours

 

Ha, progress at least. Should be much better stuff over the next year.

 

Yeah, I hope/expect the floodgates should open soon.

It’s kind of crazy how little information we’re getting for a movie that’s supposed to open in just over 2 years.

 

Once we get the first casting things will pick up massively and the news will keep coming.

 

I wonder how many of us die hards will cry tears of disappointment if Marvel drops the ball on the casting...we used to say "only if Marvel could get the rights they will show Fox" but I am very scared about the casting, the Comic book accuracy and then all roads lead to Doom and the same rules apply...the 5 of them mean so much to so many of us and it's a scary and frustrating time...what if we have waited for so long and all of the fan castings and plot ideas and they let us down MEGA?

I want to be soooo excited for the F4 and Doom...but I feel like Marvel is putting other villains and plot lines ahead of Doom and I feel like he may be irrelevant. At least Feige has been vocal about the F4...I guess time will tell....

 

In the end, it looks like it won't be any of the Hawton's or Bagley's of the world fans want. Unless Krasinski ends up returning in the end. I think we all need to just sit back and wait at this point

 

Actually, for me at least, the casting isn't my concern.

I feel they've been pretty good at casting over the past couple of decades, and there hasn't been a choice that I've ended up being disappointed in.

They could fumble the ball of course, and get some of the cast "spot on" ,while going sideways with some others.

My hope with casting would be that they get 4 actors who have great chemistry , and play off of each other well, in addition to having a dynamic and charismatic actor to play Doctor Doom.

Aside from that though , my concern would be about the plot and the story being strong enough , which has been much of Phase 4's issues.

The film can't just be " okay" or "fine".
I think the film needs to be good to great .
It's got to show , that Marvel Studios could achieve what Fox couldn't , with these characters.

The casting will be important to that of course, but the plot and the story is going to be just as important in achieving that.

 

That will be the first big piece of information we get.

I was hopeful for the Trank version right up until we got the cast. And that was terrible, and it set the tone from there.

I can’t imagine this cast would be that bad, but a good cast will be encouraging and a bad one will make me very nervous.
