Oh I used to love the novelisation too. Chris Claremont wrote one for one of the X-men films and it was such fun
Due to recent news involving X, formerly Twitter and its owner, the staff of SuperHeroHype have decided it would be best to no longer allow links on the board. Starting January 31st, users will no longer be able to post direct links to X on this site, however screenshots will still be allowed as long as they follow Hype rules and guidelines. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Test screening info is, NEVER reliable! If the test screenings are not good... then that could change a lot for this film.
Do they still make these novelizations? I haven't heard the word novelization in years. Its very 2000s which is now retro in 2025.
Not counting junior novels for kids, I think the last MCU movie to get one was Iron Man 2. Seems like there were a couple for the DCEU but just Man of Steel, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.No. The last one I definitely remember reading was Rise of the Silver Surfer.
I don’t know if they’ve ever done any of the Marvel Studios films.

The last one I remember reading was The Dark Knight Rises and it felt like movie novelizations were on their way out even back then. Once studios started being way more conscious about spoilers novelizations became more and more rare.
One other notable exception is Quentin Tarantino writing a novel of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood that came out a few years back but that was more of a throwback kind of thing that wasn't even a 1:1 adaptation of the movie.
Wanna know what I miss even more than novels? Comic book adaptations of movies. A lot of them were not good but I have a soft spot for them, especially the ones for the Burton/Schumacher Batman movies.
See I never knew they made a novel for Catwoman but it makes sense since there was also a whole video game tie-in.
That’s right, the last stand one was way better than the movie. Should have adapted that insteadHe wrote two, one for X2 and Last Stand.
And yet Except for Joker 2, movie studios still hold test screenings!Test screening info is, NEVER reliable!
They DEFINITELY should have had test screenings for that one, it might have helped. And yet Except for Joker 2, movie studios still hold test screenings!
I thought test screenings are never reliable, after what you said. They DEFINITELY should have had test screenings for that one, it might have helped.
Ok friends I have decided not to watch any teasers/trailers and will go in First Steps completely blind. I hope to post again here July 24/25 2025 after I have watched the movie for the first time in IMAX/theatre…
SEE YOU IN FIVE MONTHS!!!!

(My Doctor Doom inspired post apocalyptic get up (in which I became internet famous for one day when the nerd and comic book sites thought I was Will Smith as Deadshot on the set of Suicide Squad))

EXACTLY!Test screenings rumors aren't a reliable because most of the time they didn't happen when people say they did, and if they did most folks are under serious NDA (coming from someone who's been in two test screenings).
But test screenings can be very valuable to the studio because they can see how people are reacting to their movie and make changes if need be. Make sense?
If you google "Brave New World test screenings", you would see a lot of links with negative reaction about it. I doubt thats just internal friends/family screenings that attended test screenings. I also doubt "bad test screenings" are just baseless word of mouth, when the movie was delayed this long (a record for a mcu film that already finished principal photography), and went through extensive reshoots and an actor saying his scenes were cut in the movie.I mean the only actual test screening Marvel has done in recent memory is one for The Marvels. Everything else has been largely internal friends and family screenings.
I really feels as though you've completely missed the point that's been explained here. Again, rumors that come from test screenings aren't reliable because scoopers make up stories or get bad intel.Test screenings wouldn't be done in the first place, if they are unreliable. Unreliable = useless data, waste of money. Test screenings have their purpose. Its just like rotten tomatoes or any review from someone, you might not agree with their assessment, but its part of the process. So you are both using the wrong term imo, @Mysteryman @Gamma Goliath . You wouldn't something do again and again, for many years, if you know its unreliable.
I reread what you said, you said Test screenings rumours. I initially mentioned about Test screenings for Fantastic 4, that things could change if they don't go well. Mysteryman said test screenings are unreliable. I wasn't talking about rumours of a test screening in the first place, which you implied.I really feels as though you've completely missed the point that's been explained here.
The No. 1 studio of last year with more than $2.2 billion domestic, Disney, has always had a presence at the Super Bowl. It won’t be a surprise if they show off wares for their upcoming pics Snow White (March 21), Lilo & Stich (May 23), and Pixar’s Elio (June 13). We understand they’ll only be showing off two out of three of their upcoming Marvel Studios movies which include the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World (Feb. 14), summer-kick off Thunderbolts* (May 2) and Fantastic Four: The First Steps (July 25). That said, the studio has always launched the first look of a big summer movie historically, in the past such titles being Deadpool & Wolverine, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
