Fantastic Four: First Steps General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

Are we sure?

Info is nowhere to be found on the supposed source:
They removed it from the article but not before the wayback machine took a snapshot of it.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR ABC NEWS’ ‘GOOD MORNING AMERICA,’ FEB. 3-8

Tuesday, Feb. 4 – Shop GMA series with “GMA” lifestyle contributor Lori Bergamotto featuring Valentine’s Day gift ideas; the debut of the “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” movie trailer; nutritionist Rachel Beller discusses foods that keep cancer at bay; day two of American Heart Month with ABC News chief medical correspondent Dr. Tara Narula and information about heart health risk factors; “GMA” February book club pick

So either ABC wasn't supposed to announce it yet or they were mistaken on the date to have and it's happening on a later date.

The fact that they removed it makes it iffy. Not holding my breath.

That's disappointing. The Superbowl with all those eyeballs would be ideal considering they are so far behind Superman in hype at this point and only releasing 2 weeks after.

Considering Superman won't have a trailer at the game, it would have been an ideal way to play "catch-up", if you will, with that intense concentration of viewership globally.

If that's truly the case, then they may have a TV spot following up during the Super Bowl, or Disney decided that Captain America needs a spot more than Fantastic Four right now.

That would be a great marketing tactic if they did that, to build off the trailer earlier in the week with a Superbowl exclamation spike.

Iffy for what reason? The only reason why a company would remove information like this is because it's true and they weren't supposed to say anything about it yet. Netflix accidently tweeted when when season 3 of Squid Game was airing then deleted it. A month later, they officially accounce it for the same date. This is no different.

Mistakes happen.

Hey, I'm just trying not to give my hopes up here.

Right which happened here. You think the person who wrote this up was like hmm, maybe I'll make up a line about the FF and see if anyone notices? No they were probably given information about news segements for next week and after posting it, the studio alerted ABC probably telling them it was too early to say anything.

There are plenty possible scenarios, such as
- maybe it was supposed to debut on Tuesday, but has been taken off the schedule
- maybe it was supposed to be a report on the trailer debut on the Tuesday after the Super Bowl

or
- maybe you are right and it's just gonna debut on Tuesday, and they weren't supposed to announce it yet

Like I said, I'm just trying not to get my hopes up yet.

Yeah, if they’re doing this then the trailer is release is very soon. It has to be on the 4th.
That's just them joking. Marvel did not get the Empire State building lights to turn blue for the FF lol

Since they’ll almost certainly do a Super-Bowl ad also I don’t understand why they wouldn’t wait a few days and get a bigger bang with a Super-Bowl first-look.

But I guess they know more about marketing than I do, and I won’t complain about seeing it sooner.

I think they may be doing this so that the Fantastic Four practically has most of the week with the focus on it, and then they'll release a tv spot for the Superbowl so that they still get that audience too.

There's going to be tons of trailers at the Superbowl, all vying for attention. This might be a way for the FF to have their own spotlight as well as the boost from.the Superbowl (if that's their plan).

Its coming next week no matter what, guys. They need it to attach to Cap 4 to start building hype: and you can tell Marvel is trying hard to make this one seem like an event.

Yes they should attach the trailer to Captain America: Brave New World. I can't feel any excitement towards Thunderbolts*, so a trailer for Fantastic 4, makes up for it.

hopefully a teaser poster as well to be displayed in public places.

Thunderbolts* looks terrific. If the movie's as good as the trailers make it out to be, it might be turn out to be one of the better movies in the MCU.

It's the only MCU movie I've been excited about since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Let's see if the Fantastic Four trailer can do the same.

The trailer of Thunderbolts* just doesn't feel like a superhero film to me. Red Guardian is the only one with a colorful costume. They made the costumes of Ghost/Taskmaster monochrome, which is not an improvement to their previous movie costume. The rest are in everyday clothes. The dceu-like filter makes the film color-muted, which I dislike. I don't have any villains to look forward to. The "Arial" font feels very uninspired.

Not sure how that is way more exciting than the Marvels/Deadpool & Wolverine - which were a good time in the movies based on my experience.

Wonder if the trailer will evoke memories of, Jack Kirby in some way.
