Fantastic Four Reboot

Fox are the ones that need rebooting.

An alcoholic shouldn't buy new pants every time he pisses himself. He should get the pants washed and stop ****ing drinking.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I first heard the news.

It would be so cool if the license went back to Marvel and they had another team to expand their film universe. And Fox always tries to hard to tone down fantastical elements with their films and you can argue that with most super hero franchises that needs to be done to an extent but I don't think you should take that attitude with the Fantastic Four. The fantastical elements are what makes the Fantastic Four interesting as a franchise. Just look at what Fox did to Doom and Galactus and the fan reaction.
Quick question is Fantastical a word???

I don't mind a reboot as long as it's a soft reboot (meaning, getting the origin out of the way as soon as possible like the second Hulk movie) and idiots like Tom Rothman are out of the way. The only way that this will work is if Marvel gets a reasonable amount of creative control.

I'd be interested if Fox wasn't involved.

Presenting Tom Rothman's new dark and edgy Fantastic Four reboot:

Reed Richard creates and accidentally spills this cocktail and starts a fire while the four were in the room. After inhaling the fumes, they become "high as a kite" permanently. Hence the "Fantastic" Four.

Mr. FANNNNTASTIC: A drug lord of impeccable genius. His drug cocktails are unrivaled in the mean streets of New York.

Sue Storm: A hooker and stripper with a heart of gold.

Ben Grimm: Sue's pimp, an alcoholic, with a secret fetish for tranvestites.

Johnny Storm: Sue's parasitic brother that is a deadbeat father that works at a 7/11, a drug addict as well.

They have absolutely no powers at all, to be more realistic. And the villain?

Doctor Doom: the mayor out to fight the war on drugs and all sorts of criminal deviances, and secretly moonlights as a transvestite with a drinking problem.

With all the transvestite stuff, a Glen or Glenda reference would be appropriate. Also, too bad Bela Lugosi passed away some years back. I'm sure he would have made a fantastic Puppet Master for this new 'dark and edgy' reboot. You know, "Pull the strings ... Pull the strings!" ;)

Change Alba but leave every one else along. Chris as the tourtch was great, and I really liked the actor for thing.

I'm casually optimistic about this as long as Fox or really Rothman doesn't have "too much hands on" with this project.

Personally, I think it's too soon for a reboot. TIH suggests that 5 years isn't enough if the studio wants to make money. As much as I'd like to see a good FF movie (and see Fox making cool movies again), I'm still kinda hoping things get tied up, the rights revert back to Marvel, and we get an FF movie that's within the new Marvel movie universe.

we don't need a reboot at all. just do a semi-revamp with the same cast.

I'd prefer an all new cast. Yes, even Chiklis and Evans.

Well its very possible that Fox will just sit on some of these properties and talk about rebooting without letting them go back to Marvel. When they really aren't serious about rebooting them at all.

Because think of it like this, if they let the rights revert to Marvel, Marvel reboots them and does it better . . . it makes Fox look bad for losing a lucrative franchise.

I really feel like they need wait on this. Hollywood's gotten to point where they keep redoing everything because they screwed up the first time, but now it's getting tiresome.

I'm glad in an post Iron Man/Dark Knight world, a movie like Tim Story's Fantastic four can not be made because standards have risen. Hell, if Star Trek and Terminator Salvation are good, then the modern day summer movies finally have some quality control.

But you can't keep on rebooting movie recklessly. People WILL get sick of it.

When fans are getting tired of the reboot and the oversaturation... you know it is overdone... FF franchise is dead. Unless they want another sequel... or SS... it's time to give up the rights.

Fox exec #1: So, how can we **** film number 3 up.

Fox exec #2: Hmmm...

Fox exec #3: :lightbulb: I know, let's reboot and **** it up the same way we did before.

Fox execs 1, 2, and 3: :word:
:pal::lmao:

One of the great scenes in cinematic history. :woot:

Man, I'm so tired of these reboots/remakes already. This is way too soon as well. But then, if I never saw another FF movie again, I can't say I'd lose any sleep over it.

And they're making Planet of the Apes...again? :facepalm

Fox doesn't have the capability to do Fantastic Four.
