FX Orders ‘Far Cry’ Anthology Series Based On Video Game Franchise From Noah Hawley & Rob Mac

FX has given a series order to Far Cry, based on the hugely popular video game franchise, from Rob Mac and Noah Hawley.

FX has given a series order to Far Cry, based on the hugely popular video game franchise. The limited anthology series hails from Noah Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator Rob Mac, with Mac set to star. The series will stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.

Each season will retain Far Cry‘s signature standalone storytelling format, according to producers, with each season set in a new setting following a new cast of characters.

God, I really thought that dumbass name change of his was just a bit. Like the time he got fat for a season of It’s Always Sunny.

So, probably a longer wait for Fargo Season 6 and Alien Earth Season 2.

I'm all for seeing two FX household names collaborate.

OMG...as a huge Far Cry series' fan, this is totally an unexpected news

Out of Ubisoft's IPs, I'd imagine that they will prioritize Assassins Creed or Watch Dog to be adapted into a movie or a TV Show before Far Cry...so, I totally not expecting this at all, haha

And making each season with a different standalone story format is a way to go.

I want to know whether they want to follow story from the games or making their original story....if they following the games, I guess the good first season story would be adapting Far Cry 3. That was peak Far Cry at its best, in terms of storytelling and characters.


and if they were adapting Far Cry 4, I wish Troy Baker would reprise his role as Pagan Min, who i think was the best video game villain of all time. No one can play Pagan Min as charismatic as Troy Baker, imo.

This is among the best Far Cry opening from the games from 3 until 5, each sets the tone for what's coming.

EDIT: (I removed the video of Far Cry 3 opening because the language used by Vaas was very vulgar...but if anyone's interested to see, its on YT)

My personal favorite is Far Cry 4...Troy Baker was soooo good!
My favorite quote from him was ("I said Stop The Bus...not Shoot the Bus...Stop, Shoot...Stop, shoot!")
