Iron Man Faran Tahir gives away a potential spoiler about his character

Do you think he is [blackout]the Mandarin?[/blackout]

I definitely think so. Favreau's been setting up he and War Machine for the sequel, apparently. It's all now up to the box-office return for the film.

I was just wondering because I can confirm or deny it. But yeah Faverau has said he wants them to be in the sequels.

In the novel, didn't

he tell Stane they were going to get "him" involved, meaning he was talking about the Mandarin, so he can't be Mandarin, plus in the comics, the warlord that captured Stark was being bankrolled by Mandarin, I'm sure Favs is going to keep it that way.

Yep that is what happened. I just got the idea that maybe Mandarin could be in the ring, sounds to crazy to me though.

I hope he isn't the Mandarin. His Chinese background is an integral aspect of that character.

Well according to the book...
he's not the Mandarin. In fact, Stane and his bodyguards/security people kill him.

Didn't ti say he would wake back up like 15 minutes after that thing was used on him? Can't remember.

True, but then his security folks ask Stane what to do with them and he says something like "Send them to their virgins." and then they kill all the terrorists that are left.

Yeah they kill the ones outside, we don't know about him in the tent though, unless in the movie we see someone go in.

I thought they killed them all. Why wouldn't they?

Well it didn't say they did. Stane would probably not want the heat from Mandarin for killing one of his main men.

Well in that case it would still mean that Raza's not the Mandarin.

Agreed, Mandarin just seems to have just distributed his rings to his top men.

Just flipped to that part of the book with Stane and Raza, page 242.

Stane's exact words are "Don't worry. It'll wear off in fifteen minutes. But that's the least of your problems". I think Stane means by "That's the least of your problems" that Raza still has to answer to the Mandarin. But, we don't know if Stane has actually ever met "Him"(Mandarin). For all we know Favreau could pull a twist like in Batman Begins, and Raza could have been Mandarin in disguise or something.

this thread is full of spoilers and i am sad to say i read them all.
