Nah, even-keel with the politicking, Silicon Valley, no angles at play.

C'mon. Jones should be out on his ass, totally, along with whoever else they suspended recently (Yiannopoulous? Can't even remember who the other one was). But you lay down the law evenly - clearly if you're going to go down the "some speech is unacceptable" road, the Farrakhan crap rises to the bar.

Are you just know realizing that Twitter enforcement is ****. That they have had to be dragged kicking and screaming to get rid of actual nazis? That you are more likely to be banned for fighting back against bullying than you are for bullying.

And lets make it clear what Silicon Valley's politics are: rich, white, libertarian. It is not some liberal haven.

This 110% and the anti-semite’s words are utterly repugnant.

Nearly All of Silicon Valley's Political Dollars Are Going to Hillary Clinton

Link

And here's backup from NBC News

$7.7 million out of $8.1 million dollars given by employees at technology companies went to Hillary. Gary Johnson (the Libertarian candidate) got less than 1%.

And in 2018, that lopsided donating is still there (at least at Google).

If you're donating 95% to the Democratic side of the aisle, I think you're leaning more toward "liberal haven" than not. You sure aren't libertarian!! :funny:

People are trying to pass this guy off as a Democrat?

He isn't saying this in a good sense:

Some words he said about Trump, he's not a Trump supporter - but he praises him for similar ideology:

Extremist religious types with the same ideals flock together. He'd "easily" fit in at a 'Unite The Reich' rally.

Or basically toss a extremist Charlottesville Trump supporter and this guy in the same room with the lights off and restrict that they can't say what religion they follow and they'd be the best of friends.

Being LGBTQ, I'm not "with her" - just against Trump, I remember DADT and DOMA. But, there isn't really a connection here that I'm seeing.

Who said anything about him being a Democrat? I certainly don't buy all the "Obama believed what he believed because they had a tangential crossing of paths a few times in the Chicago scene" conspiracy crap. Let's be honest though, Farrakhan sure as hell doesn't vote Republican.

It's more a matter of inconsistency with the hate-speech stuff than getting into parties as such.

As to Rob's point, yeah, it's pretty hard to paint the modern version of Silicon Valley, like, post-Steve Jobs era as the rich old conservative IBM types it used to be. It's been tip of the progressive spear for decades. Certainly the Googles & Facebooks & Apples of the world don't exactly have a traditional Wall Street mindset reputation, not these days with all the internal speech conflicts and the Zuckerberg types acknowledging there's a problem here. That's not even really the point though, more just "alt-right *****e gets banned for simpleton mouthbreather anti-semitic comments, maybe do it for the Nation of Islam dude too".

Who said anything about him being a Democrat?

On twitter right now, there's a lot of Trump supporters foaming at the mouth to make that claim.

Politically I wouldn't know how to identify him. Neither Democrat nor Republican. Not far left, since his ideology has a very conservative and far right bent. Would be more apt under a different party name that one wouldn't find in the states. Like Jair Bolsonaro and etc.

Ah, okay. Yeah, certainly wouldn't call the guy a core-wing Democrat. He's sure as hell no conservative either though, dude occupies a wacky fringe all his own.

Unsure about economically, but certainly bent that way socially. I know he despises the LGBTQ community and from the sounds of it he is someone who would preach about instilling laws based on the "religious" doctrine he believes in.

Farrakhan isn't a Democrat or a Republican, he's off in his own universe.

Neither Dems or Repubs do themselves any favors when they try to lump obvious fringe wackos like Farrakhan in with each other.

My brother violently hates Jews, but he also despises Muslims. This must be quite the pickle for him.
