Fast and Furious: The Hearings...

Politico is reporting that up to 20 to 30 Democrats are planning on voting in favor of Eric Holder's contempt resolution. The Congressional Black Caucus is planning on walking out in protest.

Firearms put into the public, and not followed is ridiculously stupid, and at best....someone should be fired. I don't know if its Holder or not, but his ignorance of all of this is scary as hell...

The way I see this either Holder is indeed covering up something illegal or is just flat out incompetent at his job. However, considering how quick Holder played the race card, I'm going to go with incompetence.

This is insane. Holder isn't being held in contempt because he is black. He is being held in contempt for refusing to comply with Congressional subpoenas. What message is the Congressional Black Caucus (who are elected to serve all members of their district, not just African Americans) sending? That no matter how obviously guilty someone is, it is wrong to take any action against them if they're black? This is a dumb move on their part.

Holder should've never been named A.G.. There were at least twenty people off of the top of my head better for the job. Holder got it because he is a corporate stooge who will rattle no cages and a friend of Obama. It is much like Arnie Duncan getting his post, despite presiding over the highest drop out rate in the country, because he is Obama's friend. Obama's cabinet selection with the exception of two or three was terrible.

The Democrats have been trying to play the race card on the Fast and Furious investigation since the begining.

The only good choices I can think of are Robert Gates and Hillary Clinton. Some of them are fine, but Obama sure did pick a lot of doozies like Timothy Geithner, Eric Holder, Steven Chu (the biggest joke of them all), Arne Duncan, Ray LaHood, Hilda Solis, and Kathleen Sebelius are just terrible at their jobs.

Napolitano hasn't been terrible, but yeah, aside from her and the two that you mentioned, I agree.

I don't know if Arne Duncan is terrible or not....he hasn't done anything.....

I was getting excited because there was talk of NCLB being gutted and changed...but, then the campaigning started months early for this administration and I never heard anything else about it.

KEL! THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!!

.........

He still plays basketball with the president once a week. :oldrazz:

Well, there ya go....he is keeping our King in check...

Eric Holder has been held in contempt of Congress with a 255-67 vote with most Democrats walking out of Congress. The CBC is accusing the GOP of racism for holding the first African-American Attorney General in contempt.

They're the ones being racist for even bringing race into it. He's getting held in contempt of Congress for not releasing documents requested of him by the subpoena. The CBC and Democrats as a whole play the race card too often now that it's like them crying wolf.

I have to agree with this, by crying racism they sort of are crying wolf. I think the Republicans basically would find any reason to try bring down Obama(black or white)

If there's a "D" by a politicians name, Republicans tend to want to destroy them. They would have done the same thing if Hilary Clinton or any other Democrat had gotten elected and done similar things to Obama. You could also say Democrats would do something similar if they were to see a little "R" by someone's name.

I don't see the Republicans go after Hillary the way they have gone after Obama. A huge reason why they go after Obama because in terms of political skills on Capital Hill, he's a complete novice and he really doesn't know what he's doing. He's fresh meat with an open wound in a pool full of sharks.

The Republicans on the other hand remember how they went after Bill Clinton and they ended up paying the price for it badly. You just don't **** with the Clintons. They would have a bit more fear of Hillary than they do of Obama (which is nonexistant). The Clintons are essentially the dolphins in the shark tank.

They went after Hillary back when her husband was President. She wasn't president this time around so he didn't get it as bad as back in the 1990's.

I guess they would've gone after her differently since she'd have a great advisor in Bill in her corner. Plus, she's a pretty savvy politician in her own right. So, basically any other Democrat, besides Hilary, would have gotten torn to shreds one way or another.

Well like I said, the GOP paid the price for it dearly. They aren't going to **** with the Clintons again the way they tried back in the 1990's because it would just epically fail yet again.

Depends on the Democrat really. The biggest reason why Obama is torn to shreds is simply because he has no idea at all how to operate within the system of Washington D.C. He came in with the naivete that he was going to be Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but reality is far from that. A Democrat with the skills of how to operate in Washington would faire much better than Obama currently is.

Considering who else was running back in 2008, that means maybe only Chris Dodd and John Edwards, who eventually both ended up in their own stuff that got them shuffled out of DC.

Well based on the bunch of Democrats that ran in 2008, I think that Richardson, Biden, Dodd, Clinton, and Edwards would know what to do more than Obama. Kucinich and Gravel were too crazy.

But I was thinking more along the lines of a Jim Webb or Sherrod Brown or Bob Casey. Rust Belt Democrats seem to have a good mix of fighting for progressive values while connecting with the voting populace while knowing how to deal with political opponents.

Rust Belt Democrats do seem better at connecting than their West Coast and NE members.

And what was that price again? 8 years of Bush, 2 additional Supreme Court Justices and lower taxes for all parties involved?

Good grief...

If anyone in this fiasco is guilty of racial impropriety it would be Holder with his pro black selective law enforcement.

Yes, because the only reason for him to be held in contempt of court must be because he's black, not because he's refusing to cooperate with a subpoena...

They're the ones being racist.
