Honestly, this franchise is one that I can honestly say keeps evolving. It used to be just stupid fun, and it is still that, but there's a real weight behind it now, and I'm not sure exactly when that started. It sure wasn't Tokyo Drift.

It was Fast & Furious that started it.

Was there ever word one way or another concerning how far the Brian O'Connor character was supposed to continue?

Well I think its really a big question mark??? for all the movie fans of Fast and the Furious ......I'm still have may high expectation fro the next showing...
:shr:

I believe he was supposed to be in all the future planned installments, and now with his death they're retiring his character in the movie.

I wonder if he learned how 2 pronounce his last name since the first one

The trailer's been classified on the Alberta Trailer Ratings page. Runtime is listed as 2 minutes and 28 seconds.

What still saddens me about Walker's death was that this film was supposed to be the one where O'Connor takes center stage.

yeah :(

i wonder if any of that footage or the way the film was leading towards prior to his death will ever be released or shown

Probably be attached to Interstellar.

I'm sure they will only cut out things that hint at O'Connor returning in the next film. So that probably means that one scene with Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and Kurt Russell will be edited.

I watched the first movie fir the first time in years and it was so surreal how Dom 's telling of the story to Brian about how his dad died mirrors Walker's death in almost every way exactly.

The mid-credits scene of the last film connected it with Tokyo Drift.

Nah, Fast Five was when the films started to get truly good, using pratical effects, and embracing the 80s style cheesiness realy worked in favor of the franchise.

I think he's talking in terms of bringing it back to the box office heights it started as. Three disappointed and I remember Universal was talking about putting the fourth Direct-to-DVD before they decided to bring back the original cast. Bringing the band back together for the fourth rejuvenated the franchise.

I thought 4 was boring ****. It definitely had a direct to dvd plot.

I disliked Fast Four immensely but it is the film that brought the series back to box office glory. The Fifth film however just exploded the series creatively and financially.

Personally I don't get the hate, part 4 went back to its roots yet it seems by the vocal ones on the last few posts that it's the worst. Highly disagree.
