Fat kids get less helps from parents

So which comes first? The crappy parents or the Fatty fat fat?

They don't need cars. They need walking shoes and treadmills.

Wait! So they are saying that parents that feed there children wheel barrels full of food. Statistically are not good parents! Get the f**k out of here. I would have never thought it!

They can't afford college tuition or cars because the kids spend all the $ on food!

I'm wondering too, how many of these kids end up fat after being stuck with these financial responsibilities. Stress is a major contributor to gaining weight. My parents, I think, did a pretty good job of balancing that desire to help me out and forcing me to carry some of my own weight financially. I did buy my own car, and I paid for my own apartment during college, and I shouldered the majority of my student loans, but Mom and Dad were always there to help me out and preemptively pay for things. The stress of working 20 hrs/week and going to school full time was enough to send my BMI well over 25 by the time I was 24.

Now, I'm not saying that this article's claim has no validity, but it seems that they aren't presenting all possible angles.

If they weren't spending so much money on food then maybe they'd have money for a car and tuition.

Probably has mostly to do with the fact that most fat people are poor so they don't have the money for it.

Cars are what I like to call lazy-makers. At least, for fat people, that is.

A lot of the crappy fatty foods are cheap to begin with. It's the healthy kinds that are expensive, not to mention require more time to prep and cook. Not to mention government guidelines ironically advocate/educate people into the consumption of some pretty bad foods as well.

I think you can get enough healthy foods in the store for a low cost, but the time/effort needed to cook them turns people off.

Wait, aren't most kids fat because of their parents? That's a pretty d!ck move by the parents.

I think some fat Hypesters should "weigh" in on the situation. So we can make fun of....I mean, discuss it on an adult level.

Good. The fatties don't deserve that stuff.

I'm going to file this under the "how do you arrive at such a conclusion?" section of my memory warehouse. Problem 1: small control group. Problem 2: the ambiguity in defining "help" from parents.

If fat people were poor then wouldn't they be skinny because they couldn't afford much food?

They can afford cheap food like McDonalds and Burger King. They can't afford healthy food which is generally more expensive.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Fast food is certainly more convenient (and that, I think, is its biggest draw), but if you're smart about where you shop and what you shop for, and actually take the time to cook and prepare your own meals, I strongly question the idea that eating healthy is more expensive. Besides, maybe it's just me, but fast food is getting kind of spendy.

No because the food they can afford is mostly unhealthy fast food. This is actually the first time in human history that the poor are fat. They used to starve to death before the 20th century but that has changed.
