Do you think it's all in the genes or are fat people just lazy?

it depends on the case. I'm a little fat and I can wholely attribute it to laziness. It's the really obese people that piss me off though. They've abused the wealth of access to food in North America. And when you think about all the poor, starving people all over the world it's no wonder the terrorists hate us.

Eh, both. Some people are just lazy though like that 700 pound lady on Dr. Phil.

Sometimes it's one, sometimes it's the other, sometimes it's both. Depends on the case. Nothing is ever that black and white.

you im a littlefat and its all due to laziness. fat people use the whole genetics thing as an excuse.

There are tons of reasons people get/stay fat.

Depends in some cases it is genes, i remember watching a tv show once and a guy lost a load of weight, then it slowly creeped back up (even though he was eating heathly) but he could have been eating a leg of lamb when the cameras went so....

They can have a genetic predisposition to gaining weight, but anyone on Earth can lose weight if they want it enough.

It's just a fact that if you burn more calories than you're taking in, fat will disappear.

People who say "I eat right and exercise but I just can't lose weight!:(" aren't going about it correctly.

Look at things like the glutton bowl on FOX a couple of years back. Our entire culture is so twisted and ****ed up it's no wonder there are so many fat people. We're reaching record highs of obesity while impoverished nations are reaching record highs of starvation. It's ******ed.

This made me especially ill when I watched a competitive hotdog-eating match on PBS. These enormous lard-asses ( and one tiny Asian  ) were just cramming scores of hot dogs and buns into their mouths, not tasting them, not for hunger, just to get them past their throats and into their guts to turn them into poo as fast as possible for no good reason at all.

Repulsive, and if a little girl eating fried grass-cakes in Afghanistan were to see that.....wh00.

Seriously, it's sick. I saw the same show I think. They had a conveyor belt pilled with hot dogs going around and you know that all of that extra food was just thrown in the trash. What's worse is they had an audience behind a chain-linked fence cheering and acting like animals (shaking the fence and all). Like I've said before, it's not our freedom the terrorists hate, it's what we've done with it.

Honestly? I think it has to do with our society a little bit too. Most people can't afford to eat healthy and or join a gym. That stuff is expensive, especially the eating healthy part because you don't have to be in a gym to work out. Even been to one of those organic health stores? Compare the prices on the food there with the prices at a McDonalds.

Oooohhh....I like that. After 5 years of living in the non stop fear of what the terrorists will do next day in age, I think you summed up the whole thing. And if you are right I agree with them...I hate what we've done with it too.

99% laziness. But I did have a fat friend who had 2 fat parents and 2 fat dogs. That could've been passed down.

Nope. If you can afford to eat at Mcdonald's everyday, you can afford to eat healthy food. They're just to lazy to prepare their own food.

And gyms? lol, no. My friend in highschool got huge with nothing but milk cartons full of wet sand, pull-ups on a bar in his closet, exercises that required no equipment and jogging. Expensive gyms are not an issue in any way. Costs nothing to jog in your neighborhood.

To lazy to prepare their own food? In some cases but not all. Some people have only a few minutes a day to eat something. Sometimes it's faster to go out rather than go home.

You can make healthy, affordable food the night before and take it to any kind of job/school with you.

Maybe. I mean some of us can..most of us probabally. But I feel bad for the kids who live with parents who dodn't give a ****e. Some kid grows up fat because his parents are force feeding him fatty foods. That too me is the same as child abuse.

Genes? In some cases. But in most cases it's just people letting themselves go too far. Nearly everyone can keep themselves in shape. Many are simply too lazy to do so.

I think some people are naturally meant to weigh a little more than others - some have larger body frames, have metabolisms with different speeds, and can put on weight more easily, etc - but no one was born to weigh 300 pounds. That kind of stuff comes purely from poor eating habits.
