Just thinking about The Joker since I'm all hyped up about the movie, and I got to thinking about how each artist has a different Joker look pretty much.

My absolute favorite Joker artist is Marshal Rogers, I mean everything he does is great, his Batman's beautiful, but his Joker's so kick ass.
Just total perfection.

His work on The Laughing Fish was so incredible. There's one panel where he looks just like Jack Nicholson's Joker, it's creepy how much it looked like him.

And there's one panel in that where Joker looks so creepy and evil, it's so great.

Then there's my all time fave Batman artist Jim Aparo, rest his soul. His Joker was good too. Chin's a bit long, but I like that look with Joker.

The Joker I didn't like was Jim Lee's frickin' pinochio Joker. That Penguin look was ******ed.

whoever did Heath's make-up :hoboj:

I think I'm one of the few who actually likes Tim Sale's Joker.

Brian Bolland, easily. Rogers is also good. And while I don't usually like Alex Ross, his Joker and Harley Quinn are both amazing.

If Tim Sale would just make the Joker's teeth less insanely big when he draws him, it would be great.

And I like Jim Lee's Joker in All Star, but wasnt a fan of the version he used in Hush. He's improved quite a bit though in regards to the Joker since then, so I'll give him a pass for Hush.

Bolland's very good. Tim Sale's an aquired taste to some. I didn't like him at first but now I do.

I liked the pic of the Joker holding the guns in New Frontier by Darwyn Cooke.

And of course TAS Joker, but not the revamped version where he has like no features.

Michael Lark
Frank Miller
Bob Kane
Brian Bolland

I don't like Tim Sale and/or most over-exaggerated or cartoony depictions. Brian Bolland are Jim Aparo are main exceptions there (and only sometimes)

Well, Frank Miller's is my favorite. Cold, calculating, manipulative, perverse. There's an edge of class and refinement to him as well.

And the Dark Knight Returns Joker is also my favorite Joker action figure. He looks truly evil and more like a real person and he actually comes with two real looking guns.

Marshall Rogers was very cool the way he made Joker look so much like Conrad Veidt. That goes back to Bob Kane.

Dave McKean's Joker art I also love. Wicked.

Bolland - His Joker is practically flawless.
Aparo - Always thought he drew a great Joker.
Rogers - Laughing Fish Joker. 'Nuff said.

i like Bruce Timms just because of the animated series....Alex Ross draws a pretty good joker too. Can't forget about Graham Nolan, he did an awesome job in Joker Devil's Advocate

Oh, I almost forgot...Bob Kane/Bob Kanes ghost-artist from Batman #1.

Bolland is a god among Joker artists.

There's one picture of the Joker that Alex Ross did that I actually liked:

That just screams Joker madness.

that whole story is incredible. his Tango With Evil painting is amazing too.

^^what did michael lark do? i never heard of him

I'd really like to see Miller draw a Joker who is in his prime, as opposed to his DKR Joker who's in his 60's. I liked it for that story, but I'd have to see him do one that is more classic in regards to age and weight to really decide whether I would consider him one of my farvorites...

Bob Kane
Marshall Rodgers
Brian Bolland
Jim Aparo
Graham Nolan
Bruce Timm
Nick Dudman

Bob Kane
Alex Ross
Brian Bolland
Marshal Rogers

I'd also like to add Bob Kane and Neal Adams on my list. They're beasts. I loved the cartoony look of Adams's Joker.

And I'm going to get hell for this, but I never liked Rogers' butt-chin Mr. J. He even made it more pronounced in Dark Detective, but God bless his soul.

Dough Manke
Norm Breyfogle
Brian Bolland

I totally agree with you on this. I didn't buy Dark Detective because of how stupid it looked on the cover of issue 1.

i agree too, it would be pretty good but its hard to get passed that huge asschin

lark draws him look pretty good, he looks very real which is pretty awesome, im not a fan of the cartoony one that much
