You get some bands that have good vocalists and then you get those bands that have amazing vocalists. My favorite male vocalists were those who didn't even front my favorite bands yet I can't deny just how superb their voices were.

Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam

Another vote for Eddie Vedder from me.
He sings with such angst along with his deep resonating voice which gives a lot of PJs songs a haunting vibe to them.
Truly a master and this generations' Dylan.

If we're speaking pure vocal range - Mike Patton beats everyone.

Freddie Mercury, David Lee Roth, Bruce Dickinson, Alice Cooper...

to name a few.

In no particular order...

Jared Leto
Eddie Vedder
Freddie Mercury
Prince
Robert Smith
Oliver Sykes
Patrick Stump
David Bowie
Trent Reznor
Dave Gahan

Yeah I'd definitely say so, but that's no knock on Freddie Mercury.

I'll admit I am not knowledgeable about much at all about his singing. The only song I know for sure is Epic Based off that Im really not impressed w/his singing.

Epic is really not that versatile when it comes to the singing. It's really hard to pick one song where he sings in many different styles, but this video on youtube is a bit of a summary on some of it:

Across all his projects (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas and so on) he has done almost everything. Normal singing in a dozen different ways, to really out there screaming and throat singing. His voice really is like an instrument and that's why he fits so well into all his projects. He can do normal singing, but he can also do really weird things like in Fantomas where he is basically doing noises and sounds, he even voiced the zombies in Left 4 Dead and provided his voice to the game The Darkness. Sure, that's not singing, but it showcases even further what he can do. :yay:

John Lennon - love the sound of his voice.

I'd also like to mention Chino Moreno. Not only do I love his vocal style and his ability to switch from soothing, melodic vocals to screaming , but he puts on a damn good live show full of energy .
