Favorite Stephen King Film(s)

So, yeah, this small, up and coming indie author's got quite a few film adaptations under his belt, in light of IT and......The Dark Tower (lol) what is your favorite or if you can't choose, top 5? I have a very off kilter choice as my number one but I wanna hear some of you guys' first. (I'm secretly hoping to get some good recommendations from you guys as I've only recently started to dig into his filmography)

For me, it's this year's IT or Carrie. As much as I like The Shining, the novel is far superior in my view.

Also, Thinner is very much under valued.

Love The Mist. Actually prefer the movie ending. Bleak as anything.

Shining will always be a great film.

Creepshow was cracking good stuff.

My personal favorite...Cat's Eye.

Yes, I know, I know, but I love that bug nuts crazy movie, I cant describe it.

Close runner up: Misery. LOVE that movie.

Stand by Me is the absolute best movie based off a King story IMO.

Love so many though, IT (both versions), Shawshank Redemption, The Mist, The Shining, Carrie, Salem's Lot, Cats Eye and Creepshow. I even like Sometimes They Come Back, Pet Semetary and Children of the Corn.

The Running Man even though it may only be loosely based off one of King's pseudonym Richard Bachman's story of the same name but I love it.

This year's It would probably be just under the top five. It's still too early for me to call. If they stick the landing with Part 2 I might come to view it as one big film, in which case it could rival the best of the best.

I think those are the only seven good (well the top 4 are great) movies based on his books. But hopefully It - Chapter Two will be able to join the list.

Also why are so many people saying The Mist? I mean, it had a great ending, but that is a classic case of special effects and budget really letting a movie down.
