SPARTAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I think you need to put a spoiler tag. I don't know if I shoud say anything, I wanted to start this thread long ago. However our oversea friends have not seen it yet...I'll wait coz I don't wanna ruin it for others.

I think the best scene in the film was the dance of the oracle. It's been a long while since I've seen something that was that beautiful on film.

I love thaqt scene too. Filming the "dance" underwater really made it distinct.

Favorite line was "come and get them" from Leonidas because it's an actual line said, and is one of the most famous lines in Greece. It's even the motto of part of the greek army.

Wow, was it really done underwater? Kinda explains the girl's face throughout the scene, hehe.

One of my favorite slow-mos is near the end of Leonidas' run-through at the Persians. It's right before he stabs a sword into a guy in the floor. Knocked the dude down with the swing of his shield, and made this bad-ass heroic pose while the guy is slowly falling back. Damn. :word:

favorite quote.... "give them nothing, but take from them , everything"...as far as favortie scenes go read spoiler.
the scene where he is still a young boy and he comes back after defeating the wolf.as they crown him.You know ,when he stand and the guards are kneeling in front of him as the snow fall. That was beautiful. The second is in the end as Leonidas stands in front of his remaing spartan made into a ball as xerxes approaches. That was bad ass, no fears, no feeling. That scene was incredible. I love what he did as he died.

"There is no reason we can't be civil..."

One of my favorites is when Leonidas' captain gets
stabbed by three other guys and he has enough strength to take out two of them, pull the third closer and stab him. That's a helluva way to go.

When the ground starts to shake and the captain says, "Earthquake."
Leonidas - "No..................Battle formations."

The persian army running towards them.

Leonidas - "This, is where we hold them! This is where we fight!!! This, is where they die!!!"

Captain - "Arm these shields boys!!"

Leonidas - "Remember this day men. For it will be yours, for all time!"

The opera music is so loud and the intensity is building and building! Loved it!!!

One of the most amazing visuals I've ever seen in a movie was when the Persian messanger and his two travelers were on horseback and came over the hill in slow motion. That really blew me away.

basically everything in slow motion haha... those shots were all spectacular.

i really enjoyed the scenes with direct quotes from the graphic novel... it really felt like the graphic novel coming to life.

ie the scene where leonidas says he brought more soldiers than the other greeks.

Quotes:

"Only Spartan women give birth to real men."

Leonidas to Xerxes:
"We've been sharing our culture with you all morning." and when Leonidas suggests they should have sent the Spartan women.

"There's no reason we can't be civil." Perfectly delivered by Gerard Butler while eating the apple.

Moments:
When Theron receives his comeuppance at Queen Gorgo's hand. One of the best moments in the film.

The metal playing during the battle scenes. NOW THAT KICKED ASS ! :woot:

Leonaidis leaving his love and Sparta for the last time.

That scene during the second day where the Spartans are walking down the sand dune hit me really hard and I loved every spilt second of it. Another was the Ending. Thats what drove me to see the film 4 times. Just the Spartans charging with Remeber Us playing got me to swell up with joy.

i have to jump on the bandwagon and say the scene where its Leonidas charging ahead of his troops and its a long slow motion side shot of him just marching towards every persian and taking them down one by one.

SO BADASS. seriously its probably the most intimidating shot of a movie character ive ever seen.

My fave scene was in the beginning, young Leonidas and the wolf.

my faverout scean was just befor the king was killled by the thousands of arrows when he was talking about his wife and he knew he was going to die.
also i like the speech by dilios at the end and the charge

That scene is actually an homage to John Boorman's Excalibur. In that movie, King Arthur dies the same way.

Does anyone have any soundclips from the movie at all? I need a 300 message tone!

I can't believe no one's mentioned those two spartans (they're both buddies, they have that sort of competitive type thing going of how many they've killed like between the dwarf and Elf in LOTR), one of them is the son of the captain... there's that scene where the camera just rotates around them and they take out at least 30 guys, each one covering the other, helping each other kill another, that was SUCH a ****ing cool scene... by far cooler than any other sceen in the film

" then we will fight in the shade"

and of corse

THIS IS SPAARTAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
