The eighties was a great time for movies i constantly hear how people (mostly women) where effected by films like Sixteen Candles and Some kind of wonderful Ghostbusters is the most perfect blend of sci fi and comedy ever in a movie ever and Batman needs no explaining to the good folks on these boards. There are countless others, what was/is your favourite and why?

Ill start with the great underated movie the last starfighter a complete star wars rip off right down to the theme music but it is such an enjoyable movie! Centauri has to be one of the eighties greatest film creations.

hmm...I like alot of movies from the 80s. Let's see:

Stand By Me
Weird Science
Big Trouble In Little China
They Live
The Monster Squad
Jacob's Ladder
Evil Dead 2
Teen Wolf
Biloxi Blues
Robocop
Predator

...just from the top of my head. I'm sure I'll have five more or so minutes from now...

Rain Man
Batman
Lethal Weapon 1/2
Die Hard
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
BeetleJuice
Robocop

Great movies, I post more later

That question is too difficult to answer so much memories so many good ideas... Today movies have the best sfx but few original ideas. Hollywood has too much focus of doing family movies. :csad:

Impossible to pick one cause the 80´s has so many great movies

I've always had a soft spot for "Twilight Zone: The Movie"...:woot:

Why? Because its awesome.

That is too tough to narrow down.
I looked through my video collection and came up with these.

Terminator
Aliens
Predator

Damn, that was good decade for action/adventure.

It's close between the first two RAMBO's and Predator.

RAMBO is the greatest cinematic bad-ass ever and influenced more of my favorite action films than any movie ever made with it's simple but extremely effective survival/chase story, and Predator is still more visually stunning than most movies made today with far more money and resources at their disposable, a perfect pick them off one by one monster movie blended with an uber bad ass war film.

Bill and Ted is a great movie and was pure eighties (rock and roll) its one of those eighties movies that was just another movie with no real hype but went on to become a classic. This happend ALL the time in the 80s.

He man actually surpassed the cartoon IMO it was a risk by the producers to depower he man so much but it paid off in spades. and that ending is classic eighties

I HAVE THE POWERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Apparently spelling has not been focused on much in the school systems these days......

Every damn movie I think of is from the early 90's. Falling Down, The Professional, Universal Soldier(I know, crucify me now)

One movie I did like, and I'm not sure why, Maximum Overdrive.

Purple Rain. The acting was'nt that good, but the movie kicked major ass.
