As someone who actually likes turtles, I agree.

It's scary that Trump can target entire groups of people by making up and tweeting lies that have zero researched support.

They are citing medical costs. Which should be something covered under their military insurance. I literally saw a GOP Rep try to claim it would be better to use the money for that (which was grossly over estimated) for planes.

Sort of along their ideas of not wanting to pay for someone else's birth control.

I heard on the radio that the army pays more for viagra than they would for transgender medical bills. Ten times as much, actually.

Since it was confirmed that they approved new heavy sanctions on Russia.

What's the timetable for Putin to expose Trump since their relationship will likely go South? Especially if Trump vetoes it and it is overridden.

Hours probably....

I would love for Putin to throw Trump under the bus. Trump deserves it. But I doubt it will happen. When you are operating a state run cyberwar program to subvert democracies you dont admit that you helped subvert democracy in America. It wouldnt help Putin at all if he throws Trump under the bus.

Especially since, for all intents and purposes, Trump is still doing all he can to do right by Russia in everything.

So it looks the Fourth Reich is up and running into it's seventh month.

The military spends $41.6 million annually on Viagra alone, according to the Military Times analysis - roughly five times the estimated spending on transition-related medical care for transgender troops.

So trumpet still lying, I'm shocked....not

It's really frustrating how he can slander individuals or entire groups of people with easily refutable lies and his supporters just eat it up and believe everything he says.

Trump’s really going to try to take this country back to the 1950s. It wont stop with the LGBTQ community. By 2020 if you're not white or rich or a GOP politician youll probably be persecuted in some way.

Every american should have the right to defend their country in war or to serve their country in some capacity by joining the military. Whether they be gay, straight, bi, trans, hermaphrodite etc. It shouldnt matter. Only a stupid arrogant government would turn away willing people that want to serve in the military.

What are they going to do next? Kick women out of the military because their menstruation is "icky" and "expensive"?

Granted, the transgender ban is more significant, but did anyone actually see / listen to Trump's speech to the boy scouts? Holy ****. It wasn't just insanely political and partisan, it was just inappropriate for kids. He went on a tirade about Obamacare, and basically told Tom Price (who was standing behind him) his job was on the line.

So did someone from the White House watch a Rugrats episode and get the idea for the stupid kid letter?

A senator pointed out that the poll taken to see how many transgender people were in the military was a few years old. He also pointed out that to his knowledge no transgender transition surgeries had actually been paid for. It was merely something being discussed that could happen down the road.

So Trump made a political decision, that could ruin lives, based on incomplete data. Just another Wednesday for Trump. Today, demeaning soldiers giving their lives for our country. Tomorrow back to pushing to remove life saving healthcare from 24 million people. All to distract from Russia, and get cheers from his base.

Someone said on the news, "Remember, Donald Trump has never done anything that didn't benefit Donald Trump".

He also hinted at his friends sexual escapades. Here's my thing, disdain for Trump aside. A president is supposed to inspire, democrat, republican, left, right, it shouldn't matter when talking to children. It should be about him inspiring impressionable minds to be the best person they can be. Instead it became another Trump rally. It became another opportunity for Trump to talk himself up, and "his enemies" down.

Last night Trump said that aside from Lincoln, that Trump himself is the most presidential of all presidents. At that Boyscout jamboree though, Trump was as unpresidential as you can get.

Blocking transgenders from the military is another diversion tactic Trump kept in his back pocket for rough times. I'm sure this was decided a long time ago. His administration is stacking up blunders and losses left and right so Trump needs timely bones that he can throw to his base to make it look like he's accomplishing something.

Can we talk about how lucky Cheetoh is to have been handed the economy and state of affairs he has? Unemployment is steady and in low single digits. No major wars, and ISIS is on the decline. There's still Syria and North Korea, which is a concern.

But the fact that he has so much time to watch cable news and tweet all morning and night says that he isn't involved in any major decision making process.

He "inherited a mess", though.

Can Trump legally do this?

It'll be tossed out like many of his other executive orders, i.e. the Muslim ban. Give it a day or two.

Just another pathetic GOP tactic ("Look, squirrel!") whenever he wants to divert attention from Mueller and the special investigation into Russian collusion.

Can Trump legally do this?

I believe so, yes. The military is not a social experiment. The military exists to protect this country. The mission comes first. Any obstacle that compromises or limits the military's capacity to achieving that goal should be removed. Trump has apparently talked to Mattis about this and came to that conclusion. The question is what to do about the 15,000 service members? Maybe give them a waiver?
