It's pretty clear that she has resigned to that fact, ever since Kavanaugh.
I don't think so. Because she still seems to be playing to win, with all the hedging. But maybe it is becoming more and more real.

If Dems ever get a majority in the House and Senate they should change the impeachment laws and require a senate trial to admit any evidence or witnesses that were legally discovered by the House.
Unfortunately, that is probably not possible without a constitutional amendment, which means super majorities in both houses and the support of state governments. Parliamentary supremacy means that each house of Congress controls its own internal processes unless the Constitution says otherwise. Any procedures put into place by the Senate can be changed by the Senate in the future.

Any procedures, sure. But I'm talking about passing a bill in the House and Senate that concretely lays out the guidelines and rules of impeachment. Surely once a bill is passed in both the House and Senate and signed by the president it cant then just be changed by only the Senate.

I get that, but I don't think such a bill would be constitutional. It is beyond the legislative authority of regular legislation. It is either an internal procedure issue, which the body can set its own procedure rules with respect to, or it is a constitutional matter than requires more.

That's the equivalent of winning an argument in the shower.

Senate: *Votes against witnesses*
Trump: "Ah that's too bad! I'm totes fine with witnesses!"

Anyway, let's just get this farce over with so we can move on to the election cycle. We all know how this is gonna go.

He even looks Pence in the eyes to let him know that he was choosing to not shake his hand rather than just overlooking him.

I hope Britain continues to shun GOP administrations after Trump. Foreign allies should stop respecting the GOP's insanity.

Adam Schiff went full prosecutor closing statement at the end of the arguments today.

Sadly no matter how good his speech was, the Republicans don’t care.

Meanwhile GOP Senator Marsha Blackburn falls Purple Heart recipient Colonel Vindman a “testament to cowardice”.

Remember... Real men TALK about the Constitution and the rule of law, but only COWARDS actually follow the rules, procedures, the letter and the spirit of the law.

Also, apparently real men fake medical issues when they are drafted and COWARDS volunteer to fight in the army of a nation they weren't even born to.

GOPers... Can you all not see that following the likes of Mitch, Trump, Pence, Nunes, Gaetz and Jordan that nearly everything you all claimed was of such import and value for decades now, for some of you your whole life practically, as nothing more than the most obvious of now lies? It is as plain as the ****ty haircut on the POTUS' head. It's literally that apparent.

If you come across your fellow citizens who have zero respect for your character and opinions... THIS WOULD BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST REASONS WHY. The decades of claiming the other side didn't respect the military? The supposed Constitutional "Originalists"? The take that it all the other presidents were beholden to foreign powers? The claimed moral high ground on almost literally every hot button issue of the last 40 years you all made so much of a fuss about, contributing to the political polarization because your "values" were so much better and more rock solid than your political opponents... Yeah, no one with a shred of real familiarity with our political history is going to give any of you the benefit of the doubt. If you all wanna be resentful, go ahead. Most of us are quite far removed from caring about your feelings. None of the reasons to suppport Trump hold water or make sense. And we aren't obligated to pretend anymore that it's possible you as a group actually believe in an iota of what you've been screaming at the top of your lungs for four decades about.

Republicans are cowards and will do Trumps bidding.

Not just cowards. Traitors. Co-conspirators. Accomplices.

To everyone who supports him (Congress and his "fans"): you can pretend that you don't approve of his antics. You can say, "Well, I don't like some of the things he does but DURR THE ECONOMY AND STUFF." You can go on and on and on and on about how you thought he was somehow the "lesser" of two evils in 2016.

Hell no.

You don't get to be above this. You don't get to say you don't support everything he does. You support all of it. You support a racist. Therefore, you support racism. You support a man who raped his ex-wife and E. Jean Carroll and sexually assaulted and/or harassed at least 20 other women. Therefore, you support rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment. You support a misogynist, a homophobe, a transphobe, a xenophobe, a traitor, a money launderer, and a con man who steals from Americans (including those VETERANS you pretend to care so much about), so you support those awful things. So you can own that. You should have to walk around wearing a scarlet "T" on your chest when this nightmare is all over. Those trans women who have been murdered? Those kids who have been shot in schools? Those kids who died in cages at the border? Those 3,057 people who died in Puerto Rico? That **** is on you.
