🇺🇸 Fell Out of a Coconut Tree, It's Kamalot: The Kamala Harris Thread

US News
If PA weren’t an important state for the electoral college would anybody consider Shapiro? Unlikely. He doesn’t bring anything else really good to the table besides the Obama impersonation some are evidently nostalgic for.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office reviewed the case in 2019 and ruled the death a suicide, and in 2022, the office under then-Attorney General Josh Shapiro reaffirmed that ruling after again reviewing the case between December 2021 and January 2022.
Oh my God. :fst:

A couple in interesting points.

The Pittsburg Steelers were, by rule, "forced" to interview minority candidates for their head coaching position. After they interviewed this guy named Mike Tomlin, one of the people in the room said "Is there anyone in this room that thinks we shouldn't hire that guy?" He's gone on to be "reasonably" successful in his 17 year career. As in 11 playoff appearances, 7 division titles, 3 AFC Championship games, 2 SuperBowl appearances, and a Superbowl title.

Clinton ignored advice and gave away her own election by taking the "blue wall" for granted and ignoring working people there.

I lost the link, but I saw something about Pelosi getting behind Walz.

I'd be equally good with Walz or Beshear at this point. In my gut I feel like Walz is the home run in terms of "vibes", but whoever they determine would boost their electoral advantage more works for me.

I understand the election must be won at all costs and there's pretty much no path to 270 without PA, but I think they have the money and momentum to ensure they run a world class campaign there regardless of who the VP is. Plus, they''d still have Shapiro stumping hard for them there. I just want to see them make a choice out of strength here rather than caution. I don't think doubling up on the "law and order" angle is the right way to balance the ticket either to win working class voters. I guess Shapiro probably is having the most oppo dumped since he's seen as the frontrunner, and idk what type of oppo might exist on the other candidates. But there's enough we've seen on Shapiro at this point that makes me think no bueno for the national stage.

I predict (and have predicted) that Harris will make her VP call on Monday. It's the beginning of the news cycle and is yet another way to suck all the oxygen out of the room. That and her official nomination to the top of the ticket will be plastered all over the airwaves. She's been killing it the last couple of weeks and if she wants it to continue, I think Walz is the pick. If it's Shapiro, I think people will get over it, but I believe Walz is the guy who will bring real excitement to the ticket and make the most striking comparison to JD Vance.

I've been seeing Shapiro fans bashing Bashear for his his small amount of EC votes and being in a Red State that will never flip Dem and Walz for being too old and we don't know enough about him.

I guess I'm confused why Shapiro is being talked about as if he will hand PA to Harris on a silver platter, when Beshear and Walz have the same midwestern vibe that speaks to voters in that state just as well.
