FF 2 Rate and Review Thread

I saw it Friday with my sister, her husband, and her daughter, we all really liked it, it was better than the first. My niece is 11 so it was a good thing the movie was PG because my sister is strict about the rating system of movies which means my niece is not allowed to watch the first movie yet. Speaking of the ratings I in no way understand how this movie is PG while the first is PG-13. I still think they could have used Galactus because he would not have looked any more odd or fake than Mr. Fantastics FX which still leads me to believe Fox was too cheap, either way though the cloud worked for what it needed to. I couldn't make out a shape in it but it did look like something was in there plus I did hear the laugh. So my finale thought is it was better than the first but still could have been better than what it was.

ok, will someone tell me EXACTLY WHERE YOU HEAR THE LAUGH....because the 2x I've seen it......

I don't see anything, and I don't hear anything...

and damn't I'm beginning to feel left out here.....

It was above average for Fox and comparative to the first film. It was a good, funny, action ride...I really liked it.

It is another mediocre entry. But I guess they can't all be a knockout.
I wouldn't say it was bad and it didn't fail to meet expectations.
It slides right into that biggest category of Marvel films with Daredevil and the first FF movie. A categorey I call..."meh".
But I can see if I weren't a Marvel fan, I would not have liked it because it isn't really a good movie, but it has some enjoyable stuff for those of us that are comic fans.

Well this sequel was much better than FF 1. Great action, great effects, I thought Silver Silver was very well done and the script didnt make me cringe as much as the first movie. Doom is back and I liked his costume changes. Quickly seeing him in Latveria with the castle was kinda nice. I dont know if this happened in the FF comics, but when Doom was working with the military and the FF, I thought it was sort of awkward, out of place. Just my opinion, but its almost like they didnt know what to do with him, so they threw in Doom to "help" take down the Surfer. We all knew it was only a matter of time before Doom screwed them all over. The Galactus/Cosmic cloud didnt bother me too much. Sure it would have been nice to see him as an actual character, but I dont mind waiting for a Silver Surfer movie spinoff to see him done right (hopefully).

Saw it today. Sadly, it's just average. The first half is great but then it's starting to rush through key moments and the final is just a HUGE letdown! No wonder it got a PG Rating. There's barely any ruff action in it, well, at least no big fighting.
[What's going on with those movies? First Superman, then Ghost Rider, Spider-Man and now the F4. Why are there so many anticlimactic endings being made? Do studios want to turn off the audiences from their own franchises???]

Doom is great this time and so are the F4. They pretty much nailed all their scenes. Loved Reed's newly born attitude!
I just don't understand why they needed Fishburne's voice when the Surfer barely speaks two sentences and then just flies off to die!???
Galactus was weird, though I liked the "Matrix" approach first, but it was just a big letdown in the end. In the context of the story I could've lived with the crazy-big-head-comic-character showing up. Oh well, can't have everything ...

5/10

I really hope they put out an extended cut. I recently watched the first movie's e-cut and it just plays out much better with the new scenes. Give the story some time to develope, please!

Just got back from seeing it.

Loved it. I like the first FF movie....this one was way better. A heck of a lot of fun, great FX, humorous, lot's of action......great.

This really should be one of the biggest hits of the summer.

Ummm. My girlfriend hated the first one and doesn't know a dam thing about the FF and she happened to love this one so...

Oh wait is she a lower form of brain class as you've been implying?:o

:)

I give this movie an eight out of ten. I liked the Surfer! he seemed dead on. Though it does get knocked down a couple points for Galactus being a cloud and not actually showing up. To be honest, it seemed like it was mostly a Torch/Surfer movie with Chris Evans taking over whern he was onscreen with the funny lines.
Jessica Alba? I sort of wish they gave her more to do. She did have great chemistry with Johnny, Ben and the Surfer but at times seems like she likes Julian Mcmahon better than Ioan Gruffud. However, I did love the scene where she crashlands after losing Johnny's power:yay:!

The Thing was also funny in this, but could have used more screentime In fact, it could have been a half hour longer than it was.

This movie was actually good. There were some aspects of it that had room for improvement (line delivery wasn't always up to par), but it had a good story to it and even more shocking, had rhythm and flow to it. :wow:

One major fault I had with the movie was...

Torch's love storyline was, I thought, a waste. Sure, he got the girl in the end but it just didn't feel complete. The heart to heart with Ben was a good conversation, but it just didn't go anywhere.

I kinda agree, if the film had been a little longer i think that story had a little room for improvement as well as a couple more.

"Let's go for a sPin!" is the new "Marco? Polo?" Aside from that, it was the best superhero film since Batman Begins. Brought FUN back to the genre.

Ummmm, did you miss the scene with Doom and Sue, ........ ya knwo...

forcefield bubbles,.......ummmmm expand, explode, shooting daggers at him with her eyes..........

hmmmmmmmmm...ok

^Yea i kinda thought they had more chemistry this time around. They felt more believable IMO.

Big improvement over the 1st film. I went in with low expectations but it turned out to be very enjoyable. Most importantly to me the Surfer wasn't disappointing.

Anyone else feel a bit of sexual tension between Alba and Evans in the movie? Like in the scene before the wedding when Torch says their dad would be proud, and he looks right into her eyes. I thought they were about to kiss. :creepy: :csad: :trans:

 ALSO, WAS IT MY THEATER...damn caps...anyway, did anyone else see the die hard trailer AND TWO tv spots before the film began? I was like wth?!
Yeah they had the Die Hard trailer and two TV spots in my theater too.

^^^ No one heard that line because everyone was too loud cheering for Reed. :D
