FF #537 cover (spoilers?)

The story JMAfan is referencing, by the way, is Grant Morrison's limited series from a few years back called FF 1234. Very good art by Jae Lee - - - -. It even had its own exhibition in a gallery of the graphic arts in New York.

And yes, I'm baaaaack!!

Just to add a side note to the debate, I really don't think Doom himself is attracted to the type of women Manson had in his "family". He would manipulate them as a means to an end, yes. But the women he has been attracted to are Storm, Lancer, the evil version of Lady Dorma from the Franklinverse, and I suspect to some degree, Sue herself. Not exactly a wimpy lot.

And to get back to the subject, here is a 5 page preview to next week's FF (links to next page are at the bottom) This is the Doom I wish appeared in the movie... arrogant, yes but almost insanely fearless.

You raise good points. Yes, Doom wouldn't be "attracted" to the malleable automatons that followed Manson- but then- neither was Manson. Manson has said that he didn't care about the women, they were merely servants of his. If anything, he was likely more sexually attracted to men, as his earliest sexual experiences were homosexual and he regularly engaged in gay sex with male members of The Family.

As for Doom, yes, I'm sure that as an ideal mate, he'd look for a woman of stronger spirit than Manson's followers. But As Doom can't handle independent natures in ANYONE, he'd soon tire of the women you mention and likely decide to kill them off.

Thanks for the clarification of the FF/Doom storyline. I'll give it a read.

Yeah, they do seem a bit nonchalant about it. Maybe they figured being in Hell for a while is enough. ...and they are not insanely vindictive. Even when Victor was trying to kill them in FF annual #2, Reed held out hope that Victor would see the errors of his ways.

Good points about the Manson case. I had forgotten many of the details. As for Doom, I always regretted that they never followed up on his interest in Lancer. After all, he actually conceded that she was one of the rare humans that had earned his trust.
