So we're three issues in with the "hot" creative team of Millar and Hitch and I've seldom been as disappointed in the book as I am now.

One of the most poorly executed battle scenes I've ever tried to read.
So Ben & Johnny can hold "cap' at bay after it just creamed 40 heavy hitters? Kind of a stretch.

Johnny finds lust with an uber-skank. How nice.

And just what I've always wanted: Ben Grimm pleading for his life on the freaking cover. Give me a break.

Come back, Tom DeFalco. All is forgiven.

I have to agree. What a giant disappointment at this stage. Even Hitch's artwork doesn't look as good as his Ultimates stuff. A dull and uninteresting three issues to be sure.

Maybe the plot itself will become more coherent as the story unfolds. The logistics of a parallel earth is too crazy to buy in to. Were the "40 heavy hitters" playing possum or something? A Cap robot can take out Sentry and Extremis Iron Man but leave everyone else alive? Was that cover suppose to be funny?

I bought in to the hype and suggested to friends that didn't read FF to try the new Millar and Hitch stuff. Now I'm embarrassed that I recommended it.

Since they're supposedly almost through with their 16 issues, and if the negative reviews keep piling up, maybe Marvel could run that stuff in a couple a trades and go beg Dan Slott to write FF.
Yeah I know, it'll never happen.
At least I can hold out hope that Slott will someday get to write the FF.
