The Comics Continuum reported on Friday (scroll down to the bottom) that the novel written from the movie by Daniel Patrick from Don Payne's screenplay will be out on April 24th.

I think that is really far in advance of the movie and I know I will end up buying it anyway. Does anyone else plan on getting this?

Yeah, the date was set a while back, I have been concerned for quite some time about the fact that it would be out before the movie. I don't think I am going to buy it until after I have seen the movie.

I will resist this urge this time.

Because last go 'round I read the novelization, got my hopes up and was sorely dissapointed with the "changes" and "deletions" from the theatrical version.

Well, I'm probably going to get it against my better judgement. It's not like I haven't read the book before the movie in the past, like any number of Stephen King books or "Silence of the Lambs". I feel like if they do the story right, I've already read in the FF comics anyway.

I'm going to read it as soon as I can get my hands on a copy. It won't ruin my enjoyment of the film one bit. . . and this way I'll have something to look forward to this month (assuming it actually comes out then - I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it until May).

i'll read it just on the off chance i don't have a chance to go to the movie during it's theatrical run simular to what i plan to do in regards tp spider-man 3

I always see the Marvel movies first, THEN read the book.

It's a tradition i started going all the way back to the first Blade movie...

No I am not going to get it. I read the book after the first movie, first time ever I have done that with a movie. It was FF I guess, but not this time.

Money don't grow on trees at my house.

I guess I will have to keep out of the spoiler forum after the 24th, I know someone is likely to read the book and list all the stuff that happens in it. It's just a shame when so much stuff has been kept under wraps until now. I know it won't be exactly the same, but it probably won't be that far off what we end up getting.

I chose #1, has nothing to do with how faithful they are to the comics, if it is a good story and will adapt well to the big screen, doesn't matter to me if its faithful or not.....I wouldn't know if it was faithful unless someone told me.

So, yes I'm weak, I'll read just to see if its a strong story or not.....BUT I'M GONNA TRY REAAAALLLLYYY HARD NOT TO.

I didn't read the first novel until well after the movie made it to DVD... so I don't have much of a problem with avoiding it the 2nd time around.

What will bother me is people spoiling the movie after reading the novel.

Then you don't want to come around the spoiler forum, because it will happen.

WHY do they freakin' do this?
And after all the extra hush on this production!

The Spiderman 3 novelization isn't out is it?

I didn't read it last time, but I did flip through it. We'd pretty much heard about everything significant in the film by that time anyway.

Edit: Yes since March....

Really.
Well - I'm certainly anxious to see Spidey 3, but I feel no compulsion to run out and get the novel. I think I can manage the same self-control on FF2.
I hope people will avoid giving away details in their subject lines once they start discussing the book here.

Don't hold your breath with the script leaks and book discussions from last time, I think there were very few that did not know the major plot lines weeks before the movie.

That's an interesting point.

I want plot details, I want photos, I want to know about the movie, so I come here and read these boards. The novel is going to give me a lot of the information I've been looking for over the past year, so why wouldn't I read it?

My life is simple. I'll take any information I can get on this movie including the novel. It's the people who want some information but not all of it that have trouble walking that line.

There are many like you Willie, probably most that come here fall into that category....even some that won't admit to it....lol.......I'll admit I would like to know all of those things....but for me that REALLY tainted my enjoyment of the first movie I'm afraid. I doubt I would have been 1/2 as critical of it as I was had I gone in with less information. I'm going to try my best to not do that this time. I was offered some script a month or so ago, but I don't think it was legitimate (AT ALL) so I didn't even retun the PM....I'm VERY HAPPY this time with the little information I have......I'm not going to go looking for more.

I don't usually read the novelization of the movies. I read the The Hulk one and loved both it and the movie. I sort of want to be surprised.

I'm sure it will, but...

That's why the spoiler tags are here.

Then if you want to... you read it.

Its a spoiler forum, those aren't required, and probably won't be used in most cases.....the only hope really is that spoilers won't be in the titles themselves.....the non-spoiler is really the only place to totally stay out of the spoilerage of the movie....

As soon as you quote someone the spoilers tags are down in the editing phase...so really the only hope to not get any spoilers is to stay in the non-spoiler forum...

Or.... if there is a thread that specifically discusses the novel ( with only a generic subject line), then if you don't want to know anything you just don't enter that thread. Any threads with spoilers in subject lines the mods can exterminate.
