"Visually, Fight Night sees a few upgrades as well -- but they're so minimal when in motion that its hardly noticeable unless you're actively looking for them (re: the sweat looks more realistic and the lighting has been enhanced). Despite this better appearance, though, the PS3 version of Round 3 does suffer from slowdown (it gets particularly choppy during the close-up replays or fast multi-punch combos) and is has bizarrely-pixilated crowds as well. "

I shouldn't think any Sony fans will be crying tears.

The PS3 version was graphically better in some respects, and worse in others. The lazy developer is to be blamed, not the PS3. The PS3 has the power to handle games better looking than Fight Night 3 on the 360, no questions asked.

PS3 Game is Good = "BEHOLD THE POWER OF PS3!"
PS3 Game is inferior = "The developers are just lazy."

Shyeah...

Never once have I claimed any of the graphics on the PS3 could only be done on the PS3. Far from it.

The graphics of Fight Night III aren't as good as they should be because it's a lazy update.

So you belive that Fight Night on the 360 is the pinacle of that systems graphics capabilities?

It's only a .2 difference, people... wow.

Wait.. What?

Because the game is not substantially better looking than the X360 version that meants the developers were lazy?

Ahhhh.. Ok.

:o

Of course the PS3 can do better graphics than FNR3 on the 360... Hell, so can the 360.

No, I never said that. But Avalanche was giving off the impression that he thought that the PS3 could handle super-high res FNR3 graphics and the X360 could not. :o

He just said that the PS3 can handle much bigger things then Fight Night 3, and since it's a port of the 360 version he used it as the bar to compare the PS3 version, which of itself obliviously doesn't come close to tapping the 360.

Good heavens, people are making a big deal over my comment. The PS3 can handle better graphics than the 360 version of Fight Night 3. Surely no one is going to dispute this? Fight Night was hardly the peak of what the 360 can handle. Both systems have much more to give.

So no, 'Scrum', I wasn't suggesting the 360 couldn't handle better graphics. Just that given the additional year of development, the developers are lazy in not giving a noticable improvement in the graphics on PS3.

Uhmm... I'm still standing by my 360.

Just because I'm not arguing doesn't mean I'm not still MS-pro.

Well thats what 300 bucks or so extra gets you folks. Slightly improved visuals that you can't notice without looking for specifically, and slow down to make up for it.

Man, mr and mrs zenien (though not sure which ones which :p) defend sony, again. No wonder sony treats its core fanbase like zombies who buy whatever they sell.

Brainbox, did you ever think maybe the reason they couldn't get that much more out of it on the system is because the power difference isn't as much as your masters would have you believe? In fact, I believe people like you used to use fight night, among others with another year development to the 360 versions, of examples of how you would see a big difference in power.

Oh, take a step back and look what you're typing.

Fight Night is a first generation game. Are you trying to suggest the graphics aren't going to improve? That developers like Polyphony can't get anything more out of the PS3 than what we're seeing now. The good developers will get much, much more out of the PS3 than what we're seeing now.

The way Fight Night III looks has nothing to do with the power of the PS3. We will see many a better looking game than Fight Night.

I pray that we can get news of a new fight night. Fight night is one of the most realistic sporting games out there, if the not the most realistic.

I'm pretty glad that this thread got resurrected for that post.
