Recently, my favorite ALLCAPS film critic, FilmCritHulk published an extremely long report (27,000 words!) from his time hanging out with Rian Johnson and Joseph Gordon Levitt while they were promoting Looper at ComicCon.
If you aren't familiar with FilmCritHulk, just know that despite his somewhat gimmicky penchant for writing in all caps and hulk-speak, he is one of the most insightful writers on the web and my favorite filmcritic.
With his Looper report, he take one of his many long tangents. One particular tangent, examining the current state of the film industry and how Looper fits into it, basically turned into a thesis on its own. Personally I find it to be absolutely great. Much of it, is naturally nothing we haven't heard and decried ourselves, but I think he brilliantly lays out the current plight of modern Hollywood and how we reached this point. I figured it was worth sharing.
