My nearest cinema to work is a 'giant screen' (not IMAX but digital) which is the second largest screen in the UK. It's 72ft by 40ft and called simply the Giant Screen.

Before the Godzilla remake came out, they ran a Creature Feature season which apparently did quite well.

They asked me what other rereleases they should consider - either individual films, series of films in same franchise, or seasons of films with a related theme.

I suggested a few, but wondered what others thought.

What rereleases would get you back to the cinema to see on a giant screen? And what do you think would get the casual moviegoer to go back?

Here in Canada Cineplex airs older movies all the time. Every month there is "Most Wanted Movies" where you vote on which movie you want to see in theaters (for $6 instead of the usual $12.99) and I recently saw The Princess Bride and The Professional both were packed too, 300+ seat auditorium over 80% full.
Cineplex also has a yearly Great Digital Film fest where they show a ton of movies over 10 days. Last one had Alien, Jaws, The Goonies, Back to the Future, Resevoir Dogs, Serenity and many more.
I love seeing these movies on the big screen, so much better than at home on DVD.

I would pay to see plenty of old stuff. Heck I'd even pay to see recent hits like the Avengers on the big screen again. There's just something so much better about seeing a movie in a theater, on a big screen

Star Wars Episode 4,5,6 theatrical editions
The Back to the Future Trilogy
Indiana Jones 1-3
Jaws

Star Wars 4-6 (I'd prefer Restored Theatrical versions)
Indiana Jones 1-3
Casablanca
Alien and Aliens
The Dark Knight in IMAX
Gravity in 3D IMAX
LOTR 1-3 (Couldn't set thru a marathon tho)
Lawrence of Arabia in true 70mm IMAX, if possible.
The Shining (either the 115min Internation Cut or the 142 min US Cut)
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Gladiator
Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut
The Matrix
Total Recall (Ahnold version:D)

I'm sure there are more that I can't think of at the moment.

I was able to cross off the Indiana Jones trilogy back in 2012, AMC near me did a marathon for the day, truly awesome to get to see those three on the big screen.

Seems to be a lot of demand to see Back to the Future on the big screen again. I hope the studio does a rerelease next year for the 30th anniversary!

I saw a rerelease of Back to the Future several years ago which was pretty awesome. Star Wars (Both Trilogies) That's really all I can think of now, I'll make a list though

For me, a lot of it would probably depend on the price. For example, a theater near me used to show old movies for like $3, so I saw Goonies, Tremors, Labyrinth, and probably some others.

I don't think I would pay full price to see many movies at all, though. I think the last rerelease I paid full price to see was Alien like 10 years ago. I had actually never seen it, so I figured I should take advantage of seeing it on the big screen.
