FINAL CRISIS: Superman and the Legion of 3 worlds

So, for all of us Legion newbs, can someone explain who the 3 Legions are? I keep hearing about 2 Legions in the current DCU, but three? Who are these people?

This looks pretty sweet. I like the legion and its good to hear GJ will be addressing some of the inconsistencies and loose ends from the Legion's fragmented back history.

the 3rd is the legion of supervillans

I doubt it. The 3rd legion is the Legion that lasted from the crisis, on up until Waid's reboot some time in 2000's. So you got the silver age version, the current version, and the one from the 90's where they changed some names like Lightening lad was named Live Wire and stuff like that. They all went missing during that Fatal 500 crossover they had with the Teen Titans after Kon El had joined up with them. They showed up in Infinite Crisis if you recall.

what do u mean you doubt it? did u read the ****ing article? superman prime is leading them, don't correct me if you're wrong jackass

No reason to be an ass AssAss. My bad.....though somehow I think i'm still right.

Thats the 2nd legion, there is Waid's, silver age (action comics) and the LoSV

No, wait a minute, the third Legion isn't the Legion of Super villains. It's the one I said. Maybe YOU need to read it again AssAss. :o

who's the 2nd then? who's the first?

The first Legion is the Silver Age Legion, the second Legion is the post-Zero Hour Legion, and the third Legion is the Waid "Threeboot" Legion.

Also, this sounds lame.

Perez's art has me hooked.

Seems like whenever there's a huge explosion, SBP gets shunted to another place or time.

So Barry Allen is in that lightning rod, huh?

NOTHING Perez does is lame. Period. I'm in.
Perez's art is definitely pretty. I hate how everything involving the Legion must necessarily involve a Super-person, though. First Supergirl was shoehorned into Waid's Legion, then IC gave Superman his memories of the Silver Age Legion back, then the Silver Age Legion themselves came back in "The Lightning Saga" and Action Comics, now we're finally getting an explanation about the multiple Legions and who's at the center of it all? Superman and Super*****ucker Prime. Ugh.

Also, I'm pretty sure that at the end of this, the Silver Age Legion will be the "main" Legion again, maybe with some of the totally new characters from the other two Legions thrown in to appease those fans. Shooter's already taking Waid's Legion back to the Silver Age form in a lot of ways anyway.

Time Trapper returns, I see.

This all sounds pretty good to me. The Silver/Bronze age legion were my favourites. I think you have to have 'Super-People' involved - weren't the original legion formed because of inspiration from Superboy/Superman?

Yeah, and the Hulk was a founding Avenger. The Avengers outgrew the Hulk and became something more than just a coalition of characters who were popular at the time, just as the Legion have outgrown being essentially dozens of sidekicks to Superman.

This is the best comics news I've heard in at least a couple weeks. Man, I'm excited to be a DC fan again!

Wow, you are so wrong. Are you embarrassed that you so vehemently asserted an incorrect statement?

That is how they started...

Another new Legion is always just a reboot away...

:down

Anyway, whatever, I know I'm in the minority. I just won't be reading this.

Does anybody have that original artwork cut from Justice Society #6 that showed the three Legions? They mention it in that interview, and I was curious as to whether anyone saw it online.

only person who was really enjoying Mark Waids Legion ?

Much as I hate to agree with you, I was loving it.
