Horror Final Destination Reboot | WB/New Line

I never understand Cinemascore. Is like if the movie doesn't get ANYTHING other than A+, it sucks. It doesn't make sense.

It's always relative to genre and type. As I understand it, B+ is great for a horror, but terrible for a superhero blockbuster.
Exactly. I'm surprised Bloodlines didn't score even higher, though. It seems like such an easy crowd-pleaser.

I saw this, lots of laughter and screaming in the cinema which I haven't experienced in a long time.

I didn't think it was "93% omg super amazing movie". I felt like the movie went fast, I wish were some down times and I wish there were more "trap" sequences but it was fun. Its nice to see that this franchise is back. Iirc, the fifth movie came out when I was still in college. I wish New Line Cinema won't take forever to make the 7th and 8th movie.

Got my ticket for tomorrow.

I'm at the cinema, watching this in 40 minutes. Totally improvised scheduling.

Especially for this type of horror, which the gore and carnage are kind of the main point.

My favorite trap or death sequence in the film is definitely
The first one. I love how it happened in a middle of a party, they were jumping and raising their hands and the dance moves, there was one scene they were shaking their bodies while lowering their bodies as well. Little did they know, the glass was already shattering.

This was really really fun. My showing had the volumen waaay up and it helped a lot, the sound design is excellent. You feel every crack, every pop. Great deaths, some very macabre which is what makes it so fun.
I also liked
the way they expanded the lore and it tied to all the other movies.

I didn't expect to love this movie as much as I did. Definitely the best Final Destination for me; this one had the best characters, lore expansion and death scenes. Tony Todd's part really elevated the movie for me, his lines perfectly intertwined with his fate in real life. Best movie of the summer so far.

Well, that's the hardest I laughed at a kids death since Halloween Ends.

Great film. Amazing what you can do when you don't make the majority of the characters dislikable *******s.

That has to be the best inciting disaster in the series. The highway will probably still be my favorite for just how much anxiety it has, but I love how the Skyview disaster went down. So great. My fear of overcrowded elevators has nothing to do with fear of dying, though.

I loved the little soap opera stuff they added to explain a surprise turn order.

The hospital deaths were great. Especially with all the piercings, lol.

Tony Todd's speech hit hard. Especially when I found out the directors let him do it on his own, not from the script. And nice to know one of the main characters still lives.

Death has a new key item in his inventory, along with wind and water. The mighty penny,

Not great that I drove by a pretty bad traffic accident coming home from the movie, though....

Bloodlines (45M) outgrossing 5 (42M) in the opening weekend!

i’m not the only one who teared up when they talked about Tony Todd, RIGHT???

I thought it was pretty good overall.

My favorite sequences were the stuff set in the late 60s, early 70s, with Brec Bassinger .

If anything, I would have loved for the whole film to be about her during that period .

Brec Bassinger is one of the most adorable actresses out there , and she'll always be Stargirl to me.

Hopefully the franchise will explore telling more retro stories taking place in different eras such as the 1970s, 1980s, 1940s , etc.

Once the film played Bad Moon Rising by CCR and Shout by The Isley Brothers, the film pretty much had me.

On a unrelated note , I know there were rumblings about a Matthew Perry biopic a little while back.

I think Richard Harmon would do a great job as The Friends actor .

He may not be a spitting image of Matthew Perry, but the guy certainly reminded of him , and he's got the dramatic chops to pull it off .

Todd's sendoff was very touching. A really great scene.

I enjoyed this quite a bit! It's fun, and did the most important thing right: make me squirm in my seat. Went in not having watched a single bit of footage, and I'm glad I did. Trying to piece together how it'll all play out in real time is so much more enjoyable.

Looked fantastic in IMAX. I wasn't expecting it to actually take advantage of the changing aspect ratios, so that was a fantastic discovery. Has some of my favorite usages of the format, including an all time great transition.

I'm just happy that they've finally mentioned Kimberly again and that she survived her ordeal.

Wonder if they'll bring her back in a future installment.
