Final Fantasy X, anyone?

I can get it for 10 bucks and I want a turn based RPG

Battle system? Story? That weird grid thing? Mini-games? Side-missions?

Weird grid game. Awesome.

Mini-games. Not fantastic. Not sure there were any.

Side-missions. Special monsters and extra Aeons where cool.

Battle system. Typical Final Fantasy. Good stuff.

Buy it.

Completed it twice, and would still play through it again.

It's definatly worth 10$.

I spent over 200 hours AFTER I beat the game in the "monster farming" area of the game, completely removing EVERYTHING (mind spells and abilities) from the shpere grid and changing them with the various +4 stat nodes.

Still had a hard time beating some of the 'elite' monsters.

Yeah, that sphere grid was something.
It took some getting used to, but moving people to other sphere grids sure was fun.

The character design for Tidus could have been much better in my opinion. But yeah, for its time FFX was top-notch. Do yourself a favour though. There will be a touching cinematic where Yuna dances or "sends" souls to the Higher plane or whatever. Burn that image into your mind and never...never pick up FF X-2 otherwise it ruins the whole feel of FFX

Yeah Yuna went from sweet girl next door to overtalented pop idol under a period of a few years between X and X-2. It was bad in my eyes though some guys dug the whole Charlie's Angels feel of the game

It was my first FF and I absolutely loved it. It made me an instant fan. Never really was an RPG fan and never played any aside from Zelda for SNES but that was more of an action type game. Was surprised at how much I loved FF and now about to play FF12 as a result. I would defiently recommend this game

FFX-2 was a great game as well. I dont get why it gets so much hate. The girly tone aside, it had great gameplay

I liked X-2

It was a fun light hearted romp.

And it was fun revisiting Spira agian and seeing how all the characters have changed since the last game.

I also thought the story had some nice messages in it.

nah stick with FFX for now bc its a great game and if you need any help there are alot of resources out there on the net. By the time your done with that and ready for FF12 you can probably get it for cheaper and most will have played through it so you can check back for feedback and info on it later. You wont be disappointed with FFX. The best thing about that is the characters and you will connect with them. I think thats one of the reasons it unlike other FF got a sequel. People wanted to see more of these characters.

Get the game! Especially if you can get it for $10. It's one of the greatest games on the PS2. Great story, great graphics and the grid is pretty easy to use.

10=one of the best FF games, and the only one to date which has a story that SAYS something. Note that if you're religious, you might want to avoid it, as it will confuse and offend your lacking perceptions.

Some minor character gripes regarding Tidus' lines/acting, the first few hours are tedius, but the combat system is of the best, the writing is excellent, music excellent. Plenty to do in the game. Blitzball sidequest/minigame....not so hot.

Plus, it's an even numbered FF, so you know you'll get a main character with a *****in facial scar.
