That was a ****ing amazing episode. I'm still picking my brains off the wall today, just wow.

That was one hell of a kiss and Castle was so close to saying the words damn!!!

The episode was absolute perfection, more thoughts when I gather them lol.

And now back to a less than serious episode next week. It's what makes this show great. They can go all serious and then next week it's back to Castle acting like a grown child, much to Beckett's chagrin.

Ive been watching since half way through 2nd season. Keep forgetting to post.

But yeah the latest episode was awesome

The tortue scene between Esposito and Ryan was really cool

Castle needs to start winning awards TBH...

Fantastic episode this show keeps firing on all cylinders. I've been waiting forever to see Ryan & Esposito take point on a case, very interesting to see their style compared to Beckett & Castle. C'mon doesn't anyone else want to see R&E get the spotlight with Lanie and the captain in the mix?

The first time I saw the episode, I was actually...disappointed... with the big kiss! Caskett is really the only ship I'm absolutely devoted to right now, and I realize I set my expectations too high (and no, I wasn't expecting a confession of love or anything like that, just something else than what I saw).

After several dozen more viewings (really!) I saw it was as "amazing" as Castle described it. It was so subtle, but Kate did lose herself in it for the briefest of moments which was all I could ask for.

On another note, this thing with Beckett's absentee "boyfriend" is completely ridiculous, what's the point of it besides putting a nonexistent barrier between our heroes that doesn't even provide .01% of the tension in the relationship? At least with Demming last season he had real presence and brought believable competition. Hell they worked the Gina angle this season better than that other guy I just roll my eyes everytime they mention him.

The episode was just so amazingly executed, it covered everything, firstly it developed an already interesting mystery that is so personal for Beckett, it brought her and Castle closer together and yet kept their playful banter albeit at a minimum, and it highlighted how she thinks as much of him as he does of her, he is the only one she has shown the case wall to, not even her BF has seen it, and the one person she called to go to the meeting with her was Castle, they even called each other by their first names, a first in the series I believe.

Then there was Ryan and Esposito, in an episode like this they could have easily been sidelined, yet it developed both of them tremendously and had them in the thick of it, first having Beckett's back, then their part of the investigation that gave them an interrogation scene and then them sticking together under the torture of the hitman.

We even got to see another side of Martha in her scene with Castle, and then there's "The Kiss"....maybe not quite how some expected it to go down but it worked really well within the context of the episode, and despite both being able to play it off as just doing the job it mattered as seen by both of their reactions.

This was one of the most serious episodes of Castle and yet it kept some of it's humour, and rarely does an event type episode that is about a major overarching plot contain such a good balance, it managed to deliver a big dollop of forward motion on the shows one ongoing plot whilst developing the characters and their relationships a great deal, just fantastic stuff.

If I knew how to do the Smiley with the clapping hands I would be doing it right now for you HR. Man was that a perfect review. I also love how they asked Castle "Why do you still keep showing up every day?" I mean we all know but to those characters in that universe they have to be asking themselves that question.

Damn good episode. I hope the kiss and Castle being there for Beckett when biker-dude wasn't means we're winding down on this "will they/won't they" business.

According to Jon Huertas on his twitter account, there's a serious error shown on screen in the episode....

When Beckett shoots the other guard, his weapon goes off as he falls and you can see Esposito flinch....

it seems that whatever it is they put in the guns to simulate firing hit him in the face, just below his eye

Blank ammo has paper wadding where the slug would normally be, because there still needs to be a buildup of explosive pressure for there be a proper bang. Not lethal and generally won't even break skin, but it WILL hurt if you get hit by it.

Thanks. :) Yeah that was a great scene and the way he answered came off truthful as he does love catching the bad guys, but his face showed that he didn't give the full reason.

Can be rationalised though:

Maybe the gun did go off but missed Esposito who still flinched since it almost hit him.

:p

that was how i saw it in the episode....

Just glad there wasn't any serious damage. I don't care what kind of material is coming out of the gun, if it's anywhere near my eye, I'd be scared as s***. Doesn't take much to permanently damage an eye.

he said the injury was nothing more than a bit of a black eye for a couple of days... but he was damn lucky....

Ernie Hudson told me that's how Brandon Lee died. They weren't using paper back then, but some kind of cap.

This weeks episode was great stuff, it was an actual mystery that I didn't figure out in like 10 minutes.

A good fun episode, that guy needed to hire better heavies though as there wasn't a mark on Oz after they had supposedly given him a sound thrashing! :funny: The end scene with Castle and Beckett was sweet.

Yeah i'm looking forward to that I think it will be very interesting.
