Firefox 5.0 Sucks!

It's not compastible with Google toolbar, that means navigating is a pain in the arse and all my useful add-ons are gone, I thought updating things was supposed to make them better.

The days of long delays between browser releases is gone. Now we're expected to upgrade browsers every few months. I'm still on FF 3.x because I can't stand all the broken addons from the 4.x release.

I've moved to Opera. Firefox is a broken mess nowadays. Since 4 was released it crashes every time I use it on all three of my PCs/laptops.

Maybe you have a virus. Anytime a link redirects it's not a good sign. Run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.


I haven't really noticed much of a difference with Firefox 5. I don't like that my LogMeIn plugin isn't compatible yet, but I'll give LogMeIn time to create an update for it.

Looks like LogMeIn updated the plugin.

I would suggest moving to Chrome. It's consistently the fastest browser in every release. Also with the added benefits of many of the plugins in FF having been ported to the WebKit system.

Add-ons were the only thing that kept me loyal to FF. Once Chrome nabbed all of them (and even improving upon the UI), I switched. I've never looked back.

I've experimented a bit with Chrome and it's coming along nicely. It's hard to give up Firefox though with these increasingly poor releases it's getting easier.

guys thank you for this thread. its very informative. since 3.23 + fox has been Eff't to death and i damn refuse to upgrade no matter what they say.

i downgraded from 3.22. and i was lucky i kept my addon setup files on my other harddrive. i am not gving in to peer presure (YOU ARE USING AN OUTDATED BROWSER...dont be alarmed) that Youtube tosses at you every once in a while. altho if you must have FF-current you should atleast have it installed 2times on separate directories C: / F:/ drives.

just like WINDOWS GARBAGE (vista) we are told the new upgrades are awesome and 97 percent of the time they SUCK.

Since I already had SuperAntiSpyware I tried Malwarebytes and it worked like a charm.

IA it does suck. It is a resource hog. It runs slow and takes up alot of memory. I had to go back to 3.6. Still primarily using IE9

Switch to Opera. The entire design and setup of the newest (crappy) Firefox is prett much ripped from there anyway!
