This thread is for all of those old impressions, speculations and misconceptions you had prior to viewing X3, based on the pics, trailers, rumors, etc.

Basically just bring up an old screencap, trailer shot, pic and tell us what your initial impressions were of the scene...

For example, I remember when that one shot in the trailer was shown of the White House War Room...since revealed to be that of the army closing in on Multiple Man, everyone was speculating that it was a shot of Alcatraz with Sentinels entering the battlefield...

Another one was also that brief shot in the trailer of the Brotherhood looking up into the sky...there was also speculation that they were looking at Sentinels...

And that pic of Magneto with what is now revealed to be stabbed by cure needles, how there was speculation that he was stabbed by Quills...

These are just a couple, what were some other ones that y'all had?

In the original trailer, I noticed Storm creating a tidal wave (which, as we know was meant to be included in the final battle at Alcatraz but was unfortunately and stupidly scratched) and I thought it was during the moving of the Golden Gate Bridge via Magneto. In that shot, it looks daytime, and hence I thought it would be that scene.

I thought we would get a Juggernaut, Colossus fight via internet leaks and writer hype. But nope.

Haha, I remember all that crazy speculation, and then we had Simon saying that the picture was being interpreted all wrong, and then we were REALLY confused.

I remember staring at it thinking, "bamboo?"

I knew they were cure needles as soon as they released the clip of Jean taking apart the cure gun. The needles look exactly the same.

i remember that pic of Cameron Bright with a suposed Scott on the background and i took it as a proof that he would be in the final battle. :(

I speculated it was going to be a really good movie:P (and I'm not even an X-fan, I only read Astonishing X-Men) It was entertaining, but after X2 I was expecting much more...

-When Wolverine/Storm are running near the stairs, I thought the Juggernaut was attacking the mansion to get Phoenix for Magneto or Phoenix herself was attacking the mansion...but it was just Xavier having a headache
-I thought that Scott would find Jean's corpse in Alkali lake and the "Xavier's funeral" would be her funeral... also the part where Wolverine is looking at the "bowl of fire" that's where the Phoenix would reborn from her ashes...but no
-I thought that the ultimate cure would be the Sentinels, Magneto would somehow get rid of "the original cure" and then the government would release the Sentinels as "alternative, violent, secret weapon" or something...
-I thought that the part of young Magneto & Prof.X, were going to develop their "past" a bit more, how Charles got in a wheelchair or something... but nah t'was a useless prediction of the Jean character
-I speculated that Beast was going to appear much more... thought that they were saving the best to be seen in the movie...but basically everything from him we've seen in the trailer/pix is in the movie. Jeez, what I'd give for his famous transformation-origin, or his dramatic dilemma of being a mutant/not, or the battle against Wolverine were he wants the cure and Wolverine would say "you're an X-Man"... these scenes would have been great to introduce and develop the Beast character (imo this was the only opprtunity to do that, with the cure thingy), in fact, they've could given an intro/development to all the "new" characters, (that's what's so great about X2, so many characters and they all have like a deep, sensible prominence) but no... it's all about Wolverine/Phoenix/Wolverine/Storm/Logan/Wolverine character

it had to be a really classic, predictable plot with useless action... *sigh*
