I like them all. The armors are definitely similar, although there are some notable differences (especially those sinuous, curved metal pieces coming up to Loki's neck, which really give him a sinister look). I like that, though. It creates a sense that this is the look of royalty in Asgard, similar to how purple denoted nobility in Europe because only Roman nobles could afford purple dye when the Romans were busy conquering everything.
Well, by that same token, why would you wear armor normally? The only "godly" clothing we've seen so far are these armors and Heimdall's similarly armory look. If it's just how the gods dress, why couldn't helmets simply be part of the gods' normal clothing as well? If the gods are all kitted out for battle in these promo shots, why would they go into battle without helmets? I can't really think of a reason they haven't shown the helmets so far beyond maybe not wanting to obscure the actors' faces. But hopefully we'll see the helmets soon. I'm especially looking forward to Loki's horned helmet now.also, what i've been thinking about ...
why would you wear your helmet in normal conversation. i'm guessing you'll see the helmets in battle shots, outdoor scenes, etc. but not in odin's home, while addressing his sons. it just makes sense to me in that sense.
Never, as far as I know. But a bright yellow cape would be tough to take seriously in live-action, and it seems like the majority of his torso is covered in gold anyway. When did Loki wear a green cape in the comics?
Looks Good!!

Well, it doesn't have to be bright yellow. Just look at his suit, it's dark green instead of bright.Never, as far as I know. But a bright yellow cape would be tough to take seriously in live-action, and it seems like the majority of his torso is covered in gold anyway.
Well, it's too late to change them now. Anyway, I'm sure plenty, if not all, of those non-comic people will wind up watching the movie anyway, since it'll be one of the first big blockbusters next summer. I had a friend who didn't read comics and lampooned the Silver Surfer every chance he got, but the second FF film still made plenty of money. A few internet posters claiming the costumes look campy doesn't necessarily translate into the movie underperforming commercially with the mainstream audience.I was on a non-comic book film website when this came out and everyone said it looked really camp. I know Marvel's not interested in making a grounded, DC style film but if they want this, and Avengers, to be a hit then I'm now sure I would have made it all look quite so fantastical.
I'm more inclined to believe he's eyeing Loki suspiciously. Is Thor checking out his own dad's ass?
But yellow tends to become mustardy or tan or brown if you try to darken it. At least in my experience. Does the green cape look bad to you or something? I think it looks pretty good.Well, it doesn't have to be bright yellow. Just look at his suit, it's dark green instead of bright.
No, it doesn't. It's just that with a yellow cape it would've been more like Loki. But maybe it's like you said. It becomes mustard.Does the green cape look bad to you or something?
Even if you're in full armour, taking your helmet off is a sign of respect. It's just like Victorian men who dressed up all nice in suits, but in the presence of a women they remove their hats.Well, by that same token, why would you wear armor normally?
