I always thought it would be funny if Brainy kept trying to kill Superboy, because he looks so much like Superman. Like his villainic impulses completely override his common sense, or something. To me, this is funny.

And I can see that nobody else thinks the Fatal Five deserved better. Ah.

The fact that it wouldn't make any sense kind of drains the humor for me.

It doesn't make all that much sense, I guess. But if there's anyone who hates Superman, it's Braniac. Sorry, Brainy is perhaps one of my least favorite legionairres, so my knowledge of him is mininal, perhaps less.

Brainiac-5 is a really distant descendant of the original Brainiac. As far as I know, he's never really cared one way or another about Supes.
