Flash & Green Arrow: Who is your Favorite Hero?

Green Arrow is generally a 3rd or 4th tier level hero. This is hardly a fair comparison.

 

Bit hard to make a judgement after 1 episode for the Flash. But if I was going for a beer with one of them it would be Barry.

 

They're equal right now. It's like asking to choose between fries and a drink... you kinda want both. Neither one is just 'mah favrit evah' y'know?

I love Ollie's drive, I love Barry's intellect. Ollie's gadgets, Barry's speed, Ollie's leadership, Barry's defiance, good times all around.

 

I have never been a Green Arrow fan. I just don't dig the whole social justice undertones of the character. The actual TV show isn't bad (though the first ~8-10 episodes were, in my opinion) but the character simply doesn't resonate with me.

On the other hand, Flash is my favorite super hero (along with Batman and Cap). I think Barry Allen is a great character, and I think within the TV universe itself Barry is a much more interesting character than Ollie (so far). And Gustin is about fifty times better as an actor than Amell.

 

A more equal footing based on similar tier level would be a Green Lantern vs Flash poll, but there is no GL show currently. There is just no other way this poll can go than complete domination.

 

I bet if you put this poll in the Arrow forum it would be in favor of Green Arrow.

Although being honest Green Arrow has been my favorite comic book character since I was kid.

 

Flash for me. I didn't get into GA until Smallville and Justin Hartley playing him. But Flash has always been my fave since I was a kid.

 

The arrow will have more depth because of the lack of powers. It is the same thing that happens with batman. It makes it more possible/plausible. His villains are more realistic and possible. So it presents a whole different take than the Flash/Meta Humans/Superman. That is what will always make him/them greater than any other of the super powered heroes.

 

Poison Ivy, Clayface, Ra's Al-Ghul, Bane, Manbat, Killer Moth, Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, Mr Freeze, etc aren't all that much more realistic than the Rogues.

Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, Ventriloquist, Two Face, etc, are more realistic but Batman tackles extremely unrealistic villains pretty regularly.

 

Between the two, Flash without a doubt. Even though I like the Arrow show, I've always found the character to be a snoozer.

 

Green Arrow is a jobber. Flash is part of the Justice League.



New 52 Justice League - billed ahead of Aquaman, Cyborg, Shazam, Martian Manhunter.

On par with Green Lantern (who had a $200million budget movie).

Only behind Batman and Superman in terms of male DC Superheroes importance/standing.

 

Flash has always been my second fav DC hero, easily beating out superman and wondy.

 

In terms of the CW Shows? Arrow by a mile, Stephen Amell isn't all that great but I just don't care for Grant Gustin as Barry so far. Maybe I'll warm up to Gustin over time and he's probably alittle better actor than Amell but I just find Amell's character more interesting at this point. Obviously there has only been the pilot episode for Flash but I don't like any of the cast members of Flash outside of Danielle Panabaker (who should be playing Iris West, how they cast her as the sidekick scientist instead Iris for that other girl is beyond me).

In terms of the characters in general, they're pretty much a dead heat for #4 on my favorite DC Superhero list behind Batman, Superman and Nightwing.

 

Don't get this question. Arrow always been a minor, extremely bland and uninteresting, C+ hero.
He has zero flavor to him.

On the other hand The Flash is the most brillant DC Comics character ever created alongside Batman.

He is everything Arrow will always fail to be : cool, exciting to watch, likable, down to earth and unique.

 

In the comics I have always generally liked Green Arrow more for the most part. But when it comes to TV it's easily The Flash. I can't stand watching Green Arrow's show whenever I try to get into it.
