Well neither the manager or Antony can get the best out of Antony so hopefully somebody else can but the way Amad and Garnacho are playing I dont see Anotony getting into the side at the moment.
Yeah, that's true.

I can understand the frustration as coming 2nd several times and not being able to get over the line can make you wonder if its even possible but maybe City moving on a few might leave at least a small chink in the armor and they might drop a few more points this season. Hard to see it once Rodri, KDB, Silva and Haaland get up and running again full time but you never know, Arsenal just need to be ready to pounce should an opening occur.
It's not just that. It's this attitude we have of seemingly putting all our egg's in one basket and not taking the other competitions seriously and then falling on our faces. I also just don't think we have the mentality, minerals and cojones to stand up and get the job done when the time comes calling. We just don't have 'It', in my opinion. Of course, I would love nothing more than to proved wrong, but I just can't see it. :csad:

Interested to see how Martinez does at LB today. This is what Arteta wanted him for when we wanted to sign him before United beat us to him.

It was a bust, he's too slow for that inverted fullback role, looked much better as soon as he moved back to CB.

Is Mazraoui a RB? I can see United’s first choice back line eventually end up being:

RB: Mazraoui
CB: Yoro
CB: de Ligt
LB: Martinez

…with Martinez doing the majority of the inverting. Looks good!

I honestly don't see Mazraoui displacing Dalot he was our best player last season and Mazraoui is fragile. I'm also hoping we bring Hermoso in on a free as by Christmas I expect Shaw and Mazraoui will both be on the treatment table, so I could see this as first choice.

LB: Hermoso
CB: Martinez
CB: De Ligt
RB: Dalot

Yoro will get plenty of games as we let him settle in, could even see him at RB with Dalot at LB in some games.

City might not win the league this year but there is absolutely no way we are, we dont score nearly enough to get close to that, a top 4 race is the best we can hope for this season. Arsenal are the best placed to capitalize on any City slip up at the moment.
I doubt many/any would be even considering a Utd title win this season, even if the transition worked well and all the new signings performed well. There’s a lot more to fix than is likely to get fixed in one season. I’m pretty sure many would grab top 4 and no trophies right now if offered.

Ah, really? That's a shame, as I thought he had all the traits to do well there.

Ah, I see. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.

Bailee Madison modelling our new away kit, but can she play midfield? 🤔

Hell of a team there! :D i love United's 3rd kit, first time I've been tempted to buy a shirt in a long time.

He's got the technique and composure but Bobb turned him inside out a few times, in fairness he might not be fully match sharp but he just didn't look comfortable there.

 Defence is the one area of the team I'm mostly pleased with. Calafiori is a really good signing, are you expecting to add a striker and midfielder before the close of the window?

The 3rd team kit looks great - something different about it compared to the average kit where not much thought has gone into it.

Don't know if it's because he was doing media work during the Euro's, but it's looking like Uncle Wrighty has seemingly been given the cold shoulder on the Arsenal media front.

Absolutely no hard feelings from me if Almiron wants to go back to MLS. He’s worked his ass off for us and the only thing that’s ever been missing has been that extra level of quality which I don’t think is his fault or down to a lack of training or giving his all to get better. If he does end up going I hope he gets ana mazing fan reception of the way out. And I’m quite happy for him to stay as a squad player too.

I’m encouraged if other big clubs aren’t competing for Guehi. I’d assumed someone in a better position would hijack the deal (as with Szoboslai). It will be a big moment for us if we get him and we’ll be solid at the back for the foreseeable future (hopefully Hall and Livramento can develop into top quality full backs too). I just don’t want the price to creep up much further than where it’s at now.

Yeah. I still rate de Ligt highly and wouldn't of minded him at Arsenal. Same with de Jong.

I'm expecting Merino to come in eventually and for that to possibly be it, as far as incomings are concerned. I feel we still need (as we have for the last few seasons) a top attacking player, be it a wide forward or a striker than can give us another option and a bit of that 'X Factor' when we need it. Now that it looks as though Nketiah might be staying, I don't expect an attacking player to come in. We seem to be operating on a one in, one out basis. It's a shame because I feel like the squad is almost there in terms of all personnel, but like is the norm with us, we always leave ourselves short, resulting in us always being the nearly men.

Uncle Wrighty is Gunnersaurus in human form so I hope that isn't the case

If we can offload Nketiah (Bournemouth is our best chance to do this) and Nelson, I think we'll go for an attacking option that can be like a Doku for us. Although, Nwaneri looks like he can play that part

It was amazing how much his goal output increased after Howe came in as manager. I read last night that you're looking to move him on and bring in Madueke from Chelsea.

Earlier in the window I saw Liverpool linked with Guehi, I think the price Crystal Palace want as cooled interest a but, I'm actually surprised Newcastle weren't in for Todibo. Yeah, and those £5M in add-ons should be reliant on CL qualification.

De Jong would be a good signing for any team but I thought Arteta wanted more of a #6 so Rice could be more box to box?

I didn't realise until recently that Merino was at Newcastle when he was younger, I think you'll almost certainly sign him now that Zubimendi has turned Liverpool down and is apparently signing a new contract with Real Sociedad. I don't know so much about the "X Factor" but I was looking at City the other day and one thing they have above any of us is at least 4 top class wide options, minimum, and they're a mix of types as well from wide playmakers like Bernardo, Grealish and Foden, to dynamic wingers like Doku and Savinho, that depth and variety is huge for changing games and keeping players fresh with rotation.
