Newcastle losing at Southampton!

Bournemouth 1-0 ahead against Forest in the battle of the in-form upstarts looking to upset the big teams at the top.

Liverpool also 1-0 up against Ipswich.

The biggest surprise for me out of the games was Bournemouth just pumping Nottingham. Aside from that it felt like the bigger teams did their job, not much to say. The red card Arsenal got was a joke and I feel like Michael Oliver has really declined as a ref. He used to have the status of "best ref in PL" but now he feels like one of the worst ones. Everton got a nice 3p against Brighton and with Wolves, Ipswich and Southampton losing that gives Everton a nice little buffer to the teams below.

3-1 to Newcastle in the end with 2 from Isak and 1 from Tonali.

I thought it’d be close. Looking forward to the highlights. Bournemouth have made a statement putting out 9 goals in 2 games against what are very in-form teams.

City leading Chelsea 2-1 through Haaland and Gvardiol after Madueke put Chelsea ahead.

City are looking better today. Haaland puts Foden through who is composed in front of goal.

Chelsea's season is stalling. Bournemouth are hot on their heels.

Personally, I'd walk away. We badly need a LB, but I'd rather not sign one at all & continue to suffer the rest of the season, than violently overpay for a player who as @Hunter Rider previously said, hasn't done anything in the game to justify such a price tag.

If this was any club other than Manchester United bidding for him, say Villa, West Ham, Brighton etc his price would be £20m at the absolute most.

If the club seriously believe in him & want him at the club, the only possible way a deal close to £34m should be agreed is if it was structured the way Diallo's was when he arrived from Atlanta in which it was £19m guaranteed & the other £19m is add ons based on appearances, achievements, success etc.
That way if the club ever ends up paying the full £34m for him, it will at least have been justified.

Another day, another Spurs home defeat, this time to a relegation candidate (2-1 to Leicester). Ange's job feels like it is in legit danger.

Utd have got used to being able to be reckless with transfer and wages spending over many years, but with the new rules it will really come back to hurt them and restrict them, even if they have a good manager. Getting good value is going to be a lot more impoortant in transfers going forward for all teams.

Martinez scores (deflected) to put Utd 1-0 up against Fulham with jsut over 10 minutes left.

Amad makes it 2-0! Edit: disallowed for a close offside.

Happy with the 3p away to Fulham considering the difficulty of the fixture. We take it!

He looks technically too raw to me but at least we haven't overpaid for him, and he's at least fast and athletic.

Same, seems raw but potentially a diamond & the fee £25m + £4.2m, in today's market, is worth a punt given his potential upside.

I’ve quite enjoyed this new format in the CL with everyone thrown in together. And tomorrow should be guaranteed a new level of drama with a bunch of teams going for automatic places or qualifying for the next round at all, even some big ones.

And I happen to fall asleep during it all, what an idiot! :D

Glad to see Villa get through within the top 8. PSG had more to do today but won 4-1 against Stuttgart to seal their place in the playoffs. City also through.

Can totally understand why Arsenal would move for Watkins and why Villa would def not want to sell (looks like they will lose Duran too). Everyone needs a striker outside us and City and there are slim picking these days compared to 15/20 years ago. It's no wonder the prices mentioned for Isak are eye watering after only recently coming into top form, and why City have given Haaland such a ridiculously long contract.
