For the married folks, is your spouse your best friend?

I have seen this happen a lot lately, mostly with the girls when their man gives them a ring.
They go around proclaiming to everybody on the web and in real life “OMG I get to marry my best friend!!!”

I’ve never been married, probably never will be, so I can’t speak for myself on this notion. But for those of you that can, are they your bestie?

Yes.

They really should be the person you want to see every day, spend as much time being with them and actually like them. I can't speak for all couples but I think a spouse should be the first person you want to talk to about anything. Isn't that what a best friend is?

Yes, my wife is 100% my best friend.

My ex-wife was definitely my best friend. It was nice in a way but it was also toxic. She wanted me to have more friends but she never liked the ones I made. I would want to spend the holidays with my family and she would prefer to stay with hers and that I stay with her.

Mine was an odd case but you need to have some space between you and your spouse as well.

Yep, my wife is my best friend. We do a lot of things together and have many of the same interests and likes, but we don't have to be together all the time.

Yup. He's my bestie. I told him he's not allowed to die before me because I don't think I could cope. We talk about everything. We have space, to. He plays games online with friends, I read and watch my shows.

Absolutely yes. My wife and I are so very different but we just know one another so well. There’s a mutual respect there. And even though we have very different tastes in humor, we crack each other up. Even though we have a lot of different interests, we have a blast together. I’d want to hang with her (or my sons) above anyone else in the world.

Not married but have found my 'life partner' and yes, without a doubt, she is my best friend in the whole of the universe. She is my world, my universe and everything in between.
