Is there a spin-off of it on other titles? If so, what would be the best spin-off to pick up?

I've just started reading Civil War and I can't get enough of it. Wondering if there are spin-offs in other titles such as Spider-Man, FF, etc. and which is the best.

:)

Pretty much every Marvel title is being affected by Civil War.

There's the prelude, or The Road to Civil War (7 issues):
Amazing Spider-Man #529-531 Mr. Parker goes to Washington
Civil War: Opening Shot Sketchbook (one-shot)
Fantastic Four #536-537 The Hammer Falls
New Avengers: The Illuminati (one-shot)

Then there's the actual Civil war, which will show up in over 70 issues:

Civil War (74 issues):
Civil War (seven-issue miniseries)
Civil War: Front Line (10-issue miniseries)*
Civil War: X-Men (four-issue miniseries)
Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways (four-issue miniseries)
Amazing Spider-Man #532-538 The War at Home
Black Panther #18
Cable/Deadpool #30-32
Captain America #22-24
Daily Bugle: Civil War Edition (one-shot newspaper)
Fantastic Four #538-543
Heroes for Hire #1-3
Iron Man v4 #13-14
Marvel Spotlight: Millar/McNiven (one-shot)
Ms. Marvel #6-8
New Avengers #21-25: New Avengers: Disassembled
Punisher: War Journal volume 2 #1-3
She-Hulk v2 #8
Thunderbolts #103-105
Wolverine #42-47 Vendetta
X-Factor #8-9

*Despite the title, Civil War: Frontline isn't really told from the point of view of the heroes fighting, but from the point of view of two different journalists, sorta like the Marvels miniseries.

Then there will actually be new titles spawned by the Civil War, which are:

Ant-Man
Heroes for Hire
Punisher: War Journal
Spider-Woman

As of right now, only the Prelude to Civil War have been guaranteed to come out on trade paperback. It will reprint Amazing Spider-Man 529-531; New Avengers: Illuminati; and Fantastic Four #536-537 and will be out in November.

Now, unless you've got a lot of money to blow, I doubt you'll buy most of these 74 issues that will span the Civil War, so I suggest you go with whatever is your favorite. For instance: If Spidey is your favorite hero, stick to the Civil War miniseries and one of the Spidey comics. That choice is up to you.

Good luck, and enjoy.

Did anyone notice how
Amz spiderman #532 was called The war at home part1
while #533 was called The war that came home part2

why does the civil war banner take up HALF the cover space?

I started to read civil war to see if it's true that the human torch is in a coma now i'm hooked

Civil War and Civil War Frontline are the only two necessary books IMO.

What is Civil Frontline anyway???..I Re-read it but Still don't get what its about..but I pick for my self..

It's called scroll up and re-read the posts. It was explained fer ya.

because it makes the books stand out amidst other titles when they're on the shelves. I think it looks quite nice

It looked quite nice when it was just Civil War proper. Now it's overdone and repetative.

Same here.

I like the different colours for each title too

I like the covers...

Reading much of the "side" issues...I dont feel just civil war and frontline are mandatory, the other issues make for a more interesting story

Spidermans are a must...
FF are ok
Thunderbolts...cable/deadpool...she hulk were really good
The new xmen issue was decent
didnt care for the xfactor
wolverine was pretty good too

This coming from the mind of a guy who doesnt read hero comics...enjoy

:D:up: HA HA HA HA HA!

I still say wolverine's gonna pay off though, he's marvel's golden boy, they wouldn't give him one of the LONGEST (in terms of issues) tie-in's if it had no purpose. We're gonna find out who's behind stamford in that book, it's been built up too much. The only title with a bigger run tied in is spider-man and that reason for that is kinda obvious.(I'm not counting frontline since technically I would class it as a second civil war title rather than a tie in) WoLverine will be worth it, trust me.

Also did any one else get the variant covers out today. I walked in and saw them and it was, ok I'll have that one, and that one, and that one...no civil war banner and the cover art's just so pretty!:o

Best bets:

Amazing Spider-Man
Fantastic Four
New Avengers

They cover all the main cast in great depth.

Wolverine is a typical Wolvie manhunt story.
Frontline gets a tad bit too serious for it's own good.

I'll also add that ASM and FF run through until the end of Civil War.

Frontline is as essential to the main title than anything else. I dont know where this its too serious stuff is coming from. Its a politically charged book, as is the the actual mini.

Not only that, also it's written from the p.o.v. of two journalists. That means that they are gonna be interested in the human drama and political ramifications more than the fights. This is why it seems overly serious, it's just good writing by people who actually understand their characters

The poems at the end are way too heavy handed for my tastes and in my opinion not necessary.

I'm more into the main characters, that's just me.

That much is true but they are very much an "add-on" frankly comparing the SHRA to internment camps was insulting to those who suffered them. But the main body is awesome...and speedbal is kicking some major ass

Same thing here bro. I'm more interested in the epicenter of the whole deal, Frontline's good but I wouldn't label it 'vital'.:o

For me the point of frontline is a different point of view. Every other comic deals with how this will affect the heroes, but completely ignore the biggest group to be affected by the SHRA....

...THe ordinary people who have to live in the MU. It shows how the people who these guys save on a weekly basis are seeing the act and how it will impact their lives. This is what makes it so fascinating and vital.

The downside...I'm with cap so this is preaching to the choir with it's polititcs, that is, I'd rather it was a bit more balanced. Otherwise though, FANTASTIC!

Not vital? Not vital? Really? Ok, where did we see Spider-Man's press conference? Where did we see SPidey's interview with Urich? Where did we see the first battle against the SHRA? Where did we see Speedball found alive? Where are we seeing his journey?
