Hi all,

for halloween this year I was gonna go as the joker but i really can't find the correct clothes...plus, i'm sure A LOT of people are going to be him this year so i thought...hmmmm...who else is amazingly cool in the film...not batman, not two-face...JIM GORDON!!

So, what i would really like if anyone has some, are some really nice shotsof him with his outfit - plus, do any of you know where i can buy a mustache like his...and his glasses (obviously lenseless or just glass in them).

Thanks all :woot::woot::woot:

Although even more obscure than Jim Gordon, I do beleive I'll be doing a GCPD SWAT officer variant for my load out. Same could be done for Gordon. Get yourself an underarmor-esq. shirt (GCPD is embroidered on the neck though), a black BDU top, BDU bottoms, a GCPD SWAT patch, and either Gordon's main glasses, or his tactical looking ones and there you go. :yay:

I'm not going to buy another vest, I've got a few already, so I'll just use my cross-draw one with either GCPD on the front in a name tape, or GCPD on the back were SWAT usualy is. In TDK most of the SWAT guys had SWAT on their vest backs, but thats sorta generic in my mind. GCPD would atleast mabey get people to think about who you are/what kind of SWAT you are. I'm a BSG marine, and honestly, I relise that we look like SWAT, and we don't have a patch on us, but at least play along with me when I tell you what I realy am. :oldrazz:

Just my 20 cents. :oldrazz:

Talk about a great idea! For the mustache and glasses I suggest Ebay. I bought a mustache there that look like his, I'll take a look if I can find an other one.

Just about any party store has multipacks of fake mustaches. if you can't find one in the pack that fits the bill to look like Gordon, least you can go slap the mustaches on your car and tell girls they're free to get a mustache ride from you.

I think you should be alfred, and give "a little liquid courage" to everyone.

hmmmm...thinking about it - if i can't find a good fake mustache then it can't be that hard to make one yourself.

all you'd need is a piece of fluffy, well...hairy material and cut it to your shape

and if that doesn't work, than i'll just draw it on!

wow. cool and original.
hope you keep this thread alive.
as i believe there will be an "army"
of Jokers' this Halloween :D

there not perfect but there do for the moment - plus it's only plain glass lenses so i won't end up blind :woot:

ok...been trying to find some good pics of his outfit but can't seem to find any, so have any of you guys got any?

thanks

Also add the knee and elbows pads and your set

i don't have any... have to see the film again. BUT, unless you're dieing for screen accuracy, almost any un-stylized dark suit, probably grey or brown topped off with a black duster would probably do.

my friend is wanting to do gordon so im trying to hook him up... i'm going to keep it that simple for the outfit, then get a custom badge made with gotham city and major crimes unit on it. (would any of you well-read comic readers know what gordon's badge number is?)

combine that with a decent fake moose-stache and plastic squared off glasses and whamo, you've got a gordon.

I am going as Jim Gordon for Halloween myself. I am growing out my mustache (which is beginningto creep out my girlfriend). At a great deal of expense I now have (and wear on a daily basis) the same eye glasses that Gary Oldman's Gordon wears in Begins and TDK.

However, I think I am going to deviate from the film version of Gordon just a bit. I am going to wear a fairly utilitarian looking dress shirt with some dark slacks and a black knit tie (ala Jim Gordon in BTAS). Over that, I am going to wear a tactical vest with a TDK GCPD patch sown over the left breast. And I have a TDK GCPD badge to wear on my belt that I got off ebay. I like Gordon to look a little more badass and hands on so I thought the tac vest would be a good touch. Like he's out in the field with GCPD kicking some butt. The only other thing I need is a "GCPD" patch for the back of the vest. Anyone know where I can find one?

are you looking for the actually GCPD emblem or just "GCPD" in large white letters?

I have the patch with the emblem to go on the front. I am looking for the "GCPD" in white letters to go on the back.

your best bet, i would imagine, is to just get a custom patch made. most places won't do anything but 50-100 piece minimums... buy after a few clicks i found this place

http://www.colorpatch.com/

looks like that you can get a 3"x12" or 8"x11" patch for 15 bucks plus 2.15 shipping... so not a bad deal. i'm not sure what the turnaround is, be sure to check on that if you go with them.

and actually i think they have an option for dyed patches not just embroidered, which i think is more along the lines of what the GCPD thing looks link.

Gordon's glasses in Begins and TDK are actually Kirk Originals. They stopped manufacturing his particular style (LOI 5/105) after Batman Begins, but if you contact them directly sometimes they can track down a pair for you. I was lucky enough to snag a pair, but I paid through the nose for them :-/

Thanks, jscottmarine, for the website! I'm going to give it a shot. I'll have to post some pics when the costume is ready.

I went through colorpatch.com to get that GCPD patch made up for the back of my vest. Great recommendation! They were very helpful, fast, and the patch looks great.

AWSOME, I was thinking about doing this myself.....You didn't happen to order enough for me did you? :oldrazz::cwink::yay:

But seriously, do you have any pics. of it? I'd be intrested in one for sure. :woot:

It's simply a 6x11 black patch with "GCPD" in white letters. I will post photos once I have it sown onto my tac vest. You'll get a better idea of the scale, which seems to be pretty dead on with what the pictures I have seen of the real vests.

Sorry, guys. Can't get the pics to upload properly. Is there a way to post pics without a URL?

I was worried my initial Two-Face costume wouldn't pan out and my backup was Ned Flanders. However, I think Jim Gordon would involve far less face paint and be more badass.
