I didnt see a thread on this and figured it needed one. Anyone pick this up yet? I got it yesterday and feel the car tuning options are incredible but the racing aspect needs more. So far i havent been able to do a race that lasts over 4 laps, which is a major let down. I dont think i can even set race length in exhibition. Overall id say its a pretty good game because of the abilty to tune everything about your car but the races leave feeling like all that tuning went for nothing.

I didnt like the demo. But that dirt demo was fun as hell, I think ill pick that up instead of Forza

hah, yea if you are a "Mario Kart" kind of guy then yea, id stay far away from this, unless you just love cars and tuning nearly every aspect about them. To me, thats really all the game does well. The races are just too short and the AI isnt competitive once you begin to upgrade your car. I would really like the game if there was a little more presentation for each race and they lasted more than 4 laps.

I kinda understand the basic stuff, like buying new brakes and getting a better transmission and what not, I just get overwhelmed when it comes to tuning, I don't know what the **** I'm doing. Maybe if I could find an online tuning guide, that would help me out.

Thats why I dont even bother with Racing sim games! The turns are just killerz! I'd rather playing something like Burnout!

Well ill say this, Forza 2 really does a good job of explaining EVERYTHING in the game. As you are tuning your car there is an extremely detailed description of what you are doing. So as long as you aren't illiterate and have some basic common car knowledge, then man you'll be fine. The online aspect of the game is also REALLY fun.

If you played Gran Turismo you will like this game. The online is awesome. Oh and if you think the AI isn't difficult enough increase the difficulty level or turn off all the assists. I have the MS wireless wheel and love playing this game I was on it for hours yesterday.

Well i just dont really bother with the offline career mode, the online career is where its at. I was on that game til 4 am last night and loved every min. The only reason ill play offline is to get some cash for my cars online. I wasnt too keen on the game until i played the online mode, that really bumped the game up a few notches.

I go back and forth between on and offline career a lot. I wan't to complete the offline career eventually but it will take a while because the multiplayer is more fun.

Ive been hoping to pick this one up,dirt demo was great too tho.I also have the wireless wheel...Ive never used it.When its sitting in your lap its kinda stupid...needs like a TV tray or something to lock it up to

Hey, when you get a chance to use that wheel, let me know how it is. I love the idea of the force feedback and id like to know how that wheel handles.

The wheel is incredible with Forza. The force feedback adds a whole new level of realism to this game. If the rear tires break loose in a turn you don't just spin out, the wheel reacts and will either fight against you or go loose depending on the situation. I've never felt anything like it.

Now,do you have your wheel locked up to something, like a table?Or just playin it off your lap?

Damn, that sounds pretty bad ass. I think i might need to pick that up.

I have it locked onto a small wooden tv tray. It's not the most solid thing to use but I don't really have to jerk the wheel around to race. I tried using it on my lap and couldn't stand it. My arms have to be stretched out in front of me, not bunched up close to me. Mine is just like this.

A word of warning. It is very challenging to get used to. It took me almost a full week of playing the demo before I really got the hang of it. I still have problems that I wouldn't have with just a controller.

Thats what i was thinkin!Maybe something like this where the legs go under would be less wobly

I'm a fan of Project Gotham Racing, but Forza scared me away. I might try Forza 2 eventually though.

PS Project.Im lovin that cut "purple" off the new album

I have been playing Forza all weekend. Its a solid game with only a few minor complaints...The first things first tho.If you haven't headed over to their main site yet-get there! Some of these designs people are doing are INCREDIBLE!One guy made a Jessica Alba Sin City style car and over the weekend a huge controversy sparked up because the dude he sold it to in game,is now selling it on Ebay....(jerk)But for all the comic fans ,its worth checking out.Lots of great comic related paint jobs.(peep my new favorite while your there V for Vendetta)As for the game-my major complaint is this. You remember that game when we were kids in the arcade, the car was like this stationary piece of plastic and the background was on a roll?Thats like this game.Don't get me wrong theres so much you can tweak on your car,its just that..the car is the prettiest thing on there. The backgrounds just plain stink.Theres also this terrible cloud of smoke effect when you run off track, just bad, very bad. This game reminds me a whole lot of Microsoft's Flight Simulator.(I dunno why)All the music is pretty good,no in-game songs. If you can compare it to other games like say Carbon, you'l see where I'm going.Carbon isn't a realistic driving game, cars don't handle like that. The cars in this game handle realistic. However Carbons streets and environments are "stylized"and this game coulda used some of that.Multi player is a whole lotta fun tho too.You always meet interesting people in racing games for some reason.Where as in say Rainbow six,its fun but those people are just,...uh...not bright?(thats as kind as I can be)
