Avi did sell his shares of Marvel ($60 million) however under Avi Arad Productions he is still a co-producer of Spider-Man 3 and Hulk 2 and Fantastic Four 2 when they are released. He will probably also be involved in more Marvel films in the future as well.

Back to the villains - I agree we'll see Lizard - maybe just a bit at the end or something. The film will be in the 2 hour and 20 minute range hopefully,

I think if we get 4 villains then Venom's role will be greatly diminished. The "last 10 minutes rumor" is making more and more sense.

I am betting either Lizard or maybe Black Cat. If I had to bet on it I would say, whoever it is will end up helping Spidey in the end.

At Comic Con they'll probably say:


A fifth villain will be shown in the trailer. And they'll reveal a sixth one with another trailer.

Maybe it'll just turn out to be Eddie, since out of costume he'll be considered a villian for Peter, since he is his rival as far as being a photographer.

Or maybe it will turn out to be some actual villian, hopefully the Lizard. I just hope it's paced well.

I think Venom should've had a movie all to himself. 4 is just Crazy.

I don't think 4 villains will work... it's much like a sitcom

The formula is plot and subplot

the major plot has 2 character (both properly explained) against one another
the subplot is usually connected to the protagonist or involves one independant character (independant by not being connected to the protagonist)

any more and you do not have enough time to build up character background and keep the audience entertained.

there will probably be 2 throw away characters

I hope sam can prove me wrong.
