she "cleared" up her statement later on

Update: Fox Business Network’s Lisa "Kennedy" Montgomery takes credit for that quote about Rory McIlroy being a "leprechaun," and she wished to make clear that she was being gentle in her remarks.

On Tuesday's edition of Outnumber, Montgomery, who goes by "Kennedy" as host of the prime-time program of the same name, had this to add to the comments she made off-camera a day earlier:

"Yesterday at this time I used the word leprechaun to describe golfer Rory McIlroy. I love sports, I love golf, but I am not a fan of Rory’s. Mostly for the way he treated tennis great Caroline Wozniacki and discarded her like a piece of chewed gum when he broke her heart and broke off their engagement in a short phone conversation. That’s worse than breaking up on a Post-it.

"Now to be clear, neither Harris [Faulkner, Fox Outnumber host] nor Jenna Lee [co-host of Fox News’ Happening Now] used the term and I don’t want them to get the credit for it. I called Rory McIlroy a leprechaun and believe me I wanted to call him much worse. As you know, some of my best friends are leprechauns and they also have tremendous sense of humor. Thank you."

as someone from the same country as rory, i dont know if i should be annoyed or just laugh at the sheer stupidity of the presenter.

i mean she does work for fox news and this is like me insulting an american by calling them a bigfoot:huh:

People call us that all the time.

On that note, were you able to hide your Lucky Charms in a secluded manner? :o

I think they have footage of him leprechauning around in Alabama.

So wait, is leprechaun officially a slur for an Irish person now? Is the lucky charms Guy their "Mammy?"

Everything is a slur, these days. Ridiculous.

Ohhh he is Irish? I tought leperchaun was because he was just very short. I just googled him he is not.

I think that makes me either a Chupacabra or a Nahual.

I don't care or know who these folks are, but I did google aCroline Wozniacki. I would take her out to a popeyes dinner, but she cannot order the 12 pc bucket.

Calling an Irish person a leprechaun is childish but I'm not sure they find it offensive or just stupid.

I read this as being directed towards Rory Culkin. Took me a couple of views to figure out it was a different person.

More weird than racist, but still racist.

Racist isn't the right word. She used a disparaging term in reference to his ethnicity (Irish) -- not his race (white). It is a weird thing for a so-called professional to say on the air, though, especially when a number of her fellow Fox News personalities are Irish-American (e.g., Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Peter King).

I just realized the Fox News anchor in question is Lisa Montgomery aka Kennedy aka the former MTV VJ.

Semantics.

I thought you were Chinese
I think your thinker don't think too good.

Calling an Irishman a leprechaun? Is she 12?

She's lucky if she has the brains of a 12 year old....this debacle (where she proves she is an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to interview anything other than cabbage) is what I remember her from http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/101196/martin-landau-berates-kennedy.jhtml

Also about 70% of the cops in America's Northeast too. :o

It's also the second most common last name in South Korea (though sometimes Romanized as Rhee, like Syngman Rhee).

I thought he was an assassin - 'Lee' Harvey Oswald. :o Although if you 'C' Lee then he can't be a very good one.

*gets banned*

That is a common misconception. C. Lee is my "sword brother" only, adopted into my warrior clan for his heroism in helping us keep at bay the invading hordes of the underdemons of Xianchi. But on the day before he was to marry my sister, he merely took his mighty staff in hand and stalked off alone into the night, remarking that the world was not yet cured of evil, and he was needed elsewhere.
