Sequels FOX Shared Universe - Part 1

He should stay away from X-Men after Apocalypse.

I wonder how he's reacting to the reaction to Fantastic Four? He seems so pro-X-Men/FF crossover. I'm blaming him for letting Fox to change Trank's original outline for that film.

I have heard people say the first 50 minutes is ok but the rest of it is what drags it down and it's assumed fox's changes and re shoots are what hurt it

So I do wonder if you are being abit unfair on kinberg (maybe)

LOL He's not gonna be taken out of Apocalypse. He's been here since FC.

I'm just saying he's as much "the" face of Fantastic Four as Trask was, especially where the media is cornered, with him doing as much interviews as he has.

He should sit this one out until everything cools down. Let Bryan start do the interviews since his controversy has already passed.

Trask not only tried to destroy mutants, but the Fantastic Four too?:p

Hahaha That weasel!!!

Edit:
Wow so much typos on that post. When I say "especially where the media is cornered" I obviously meant "especially where the media is concerned" :waa::waa::waa:

He's been here since X3. Or have you erased that film from existence as dofp did? :cwink:

He was an uncredited 'script doctor' on the first Story FF film too, so he's been lingering about a little longer than X3.

Hopefully this crossover talk gets put to rest for good now. FF had their shot and wasted it. It would have probably been a contrived mess bringing them together anyway. Focus on the X-Men shared universe and green light X-Force already.

YES!

X-men/X-Force/New Mutants Cinematic Universe >>>>>>>>>> FF/X-men crossover

There is a rumour that Fox is considering swapping FF 2 with a Deadpool sequel. I hope it's X-Force, actually.

I really doubt Deadpool 1 and 2 will be less then 2 years away from each other.

But yeah, give X-Force that date.

Supposedly the Deadpool sequel, should it happen, will bring in Cable.

They already have a draft from it from Wadlow, though who knows how usable it is in light of Apocalypse/Deadpool. Besides Apocalypse himself being used, I think Wadlow hinted at having characters like Psylocke? Who'd be in the 80's. Maybe Bryan's original mechanism for a X-Men/F4 crossover would've included Cable? Or Bishop? Who knows.

In any case, I hope they let Rhett Reese, Paul Werner and Tim Miller be the ones to handle it. Hope they make the decision quick and give adequate preproduction time so we're not repeating mistakes of Fox's past.

They said they wanted to use cable but whether fox let them or not is another matter since he is a character that could set up x-force

There's another report from Faraci saying that Fox wants Cable in Deadpool as well.

I wouldn't mind if they could make it work, but wouldn't it be easier to set up a Deadpool sequel rather than an all new film like X-force?

Possibly. Not sure tbh. At first I was thinking it's too fast but that didn't really hurt all the pt 1 and 2s out there nowadays. But those are usually shot back to back or planned ahead. Maybe the Deadpool crew wrote sequels while the film was on hold forever, so they can manage the quick turn around. They definitely had time to think about it. So yeah, you may be right.

I'm sure Fox would def prefer to have both going on. Hopefully when they do get X-Force moving they get someone who is passionate about the project like the Deadpool crew is.

if the film was put on hold its unlikely they spent time writing sequels to a film that may not even be made

i think one movie is probably heartbreaking enough to put effort into and never be made rather then 2 or 3

If fox is considering putting cable In deadpool 2 then i doudt seriously any work has been done on x-force after scraping previous script.

X-force may depend first how GA responds to Deadpool and then how deadpool
sequel goes.

I wouldn't mind an X5 somewhere down the line.

FF was their first failure at the "Universe" test and their 3rd failure with FF. Makes you wonder whether Gambit and Deadpool will make it with new directors and new casts, so their only safe bet right now is the cast and franchise that they know works (Singer and the OC).

So I'd say, try all the new stuff but put some money into X5. I think it means something if you can have the 15-year-old cast and franchise that started the CBM boom keep going.

Is there a thread for the TV series?

Fox has wanted to use Cable for awhile I feel like. Liefeld had to recommend against using Cable initially in Deadpool (probably fearing another Origins-type situation and not wanting to shaft either character) when he met with Fox to discuss rebooting DP, he was considered for DOFP alongisde Bishop and characters like Rachel Summers etc. So I feel like if there's a character that Fox believes has the potential to become really big, it's Cable. So I'm not surprised Fox wants to use him, especially if Deadpool is a success.
