Then all of a sudden, Rob Riggle's character undergoes major plastic surgery to either look like Patton Oswalt or the other dude (I forget his name, but I think he's Kevin's real life brother) and they all move to New York City.

Modern Family has a gay couple and has at least one interracial couple (unless you don't count Gloria married to Jay as interracial enough).
